Think about this: Burnout doesn’t come from working too hard 🤯 * * * Burnout is NOT a byproduct of working too hard or logging too many hours. It occurs when the work you do becomes detached from the outcomes you are trying to achieve. What do I mean by this? You don't run less hard when you get closer to the light at the end of the tunnel, do you? But you might stop running entirely if the light were to disappear. When we can’t connect the dots on how our work today is feeding tomorrow's goals, our task list will feel like a mountain of effort with no payout. It will be meaningless, eliminating our drive and ultimately leading to feeling burnt out. So don’t be afraid of hard work or fear burning out; make sure you have a solid connection and through-line to the ultimate goal with the work you are doing every single day. If you can feel progress towards the Northstar daily, weekly, and monthly, you are working on the right things.
