The panel cited the following key benefits of using Third-Parties: *Lend credibility to the process *Create opportunities for a true partnership *Serve as a mentor to bounce ideas off *Possess expertise which is critical when helping internal senior leadership understand aspects of the strategic planning process *Offer unbiased opinions *Has extensive resources which can be leveraged to save time *Provides extensive final reporting which is valuable to an association for immediate and future reference *Associations must be careful with the financial management; however, third-parties are skilled with leveraging the project resources to protect each side. By bringing the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) east of the river, NCMA MetroMD plans to be a go to resource for training, professional development, and community building. The chapter will also support the over 2,000 local businesses that are and can be key components in the federal supply chain. By providing a platform to learn the “common language” of government contracting, we hope to provide them with the ability to engage and connect at a higher level. We will also be any entry point to establish the “know-like-trust” dynamic that leads to stronger relationships and future opportunities.
