As Mental Health Week approaches, running from May 6th to May 12th, I'm honored to join hands with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) in championing mental wellness in the workplace. This year, our focus on compassion couldn't be more timely or crucial. Supporting the HR function throughout my career and raising two children, I'm acutely aware of the profound impact our actions and attitudes can have on those around us. Compassion isn't merely a feel-good sentiment; it's a powerful force for healing and transformation. In the workplace, it means extending a helping hand to colleagues in need, offering a listening ear without judgment, and creating a culture where everyone feels valued and supported. How we treat others matters, not just at work, but in classrooms, and communities. So as we celebrate Mental Health Week, let's recommit ourselves to fostering compassion in the workplace and beyond. And let's lead by example, showing our children what it means to treat others with kindness, dignity, and compassion. #MentalHealthWeek #Compassion #WorkplaceWellness #CMHA #HR #Parenting #Kindness #Empathy 🌱💼🤝

World Mental Health Day is an international day designed to bring much needed attention to global mental health education, awareness, and advocacy, and to help combat social stigma. It was first celebrated on October 10, 1992. In 1994, the day began to highlight and promote a specific theme, and this year’s theme places the spotlight on mental health in the workplace. Here are a few ways we can positively break the stigma and create positive change in our workspaces: ➡️Provide Information on Benefits: Ensure employees are aware of available mental health services, like Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), counseling, or wellness apps. ➡️Lead by Example: Have leaders and managers openly discuss mental health, share their experiences, and promote a stigma-free environment. ➡️Paid Mental Health Days: Give employees time off specifically dedicated to mental health and self-care, allowing them to recharge without guilt. At Dress for Success, we support the notion that mental wellbeing is as important as professional success. Together, we can create an empowering environment where every woman has the support, she needs to thrive both personally and professionally. #MentalHealthMatters #WorldMentalHealthDay #EmpoweredWomen

On World Health Day today (10th October) – let’s look at the theme, 'Mental Health at Work'! At LightsOut, we believe that accessible Grief Education Programs can significantly enhance mental health outcomes. Employers can significantly benefit employees by incorporating grief education into their professional development programs. By promoting grief awareness, employees will feel more empowered to support grieving colleagues, emphasizing the importance of mental health, creating supportive work environments, addressing workplace stressors, and promoting peer support. This also contributes to a better work-life balance. #WorldMentalHealthDay

🌍 World Mental Health Day 2024: Let’s Make Work a Happy Place! 💼 Each year, the WHO shares a theme for World Mental Health Day, so this year, we're shining a spotlight on mental health in the workplace. Since World Mental Health Day was yesterday, and we didn't get this post out, we are taking our own advice and giving ourselves a beak as we share this important message with you today! In today's fast-paced, often intense workplace, let’s create a workplace where everyone feels supported, valued, and ready to take on the day. That’s the goal! Here are some ways to make it happen: 🤝 Talk it out: Let's create a space where it's okay to talk about mental health. Open conversations can make a huge difference. 💚 Self-care matters: Encourage your team to take breaks, practice mindfulness, and prioritize their well-being. A happy mind leads to a productive team. 🧑🏫 Lead the way: Managers, let’s show our team how it’s done. By prioritizing our own mental health, we're setting a great example. Together, we can build a workplace that's not just productive but also positive and supportive. 💚 Want to learn more? Join us for a Mental Health First Aid Training on October 19th at the IIPC. 🌟 It’s #EuropeanMentalHealthWeek – an initiative that builds on the long-standing global tradition of celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month in May for more than 50 years. At #EmersonCluj we have recently launched a program called Mental Health First Aiders. It's a dedicated team of colleagues trained in psychology and emotion management, ready to offer support during challenging times – both personally and professionally. 💡 To shed light on Mental Health at work and about all the programs available, this team was very active organizing gatherings across our departments. 💙 At the heart of it all: Collaboration. Respect. Equality. Let’s prioritize mental wellness, because every step forward is a step towards a healthier, happier workplace! 🌈 #LetsGoTogether #MentalHealth #Wellbeing

This Mental Health Awareness Week, I wanted to take a minute to recognise not just what we can do as individuals to support our own mental health, but also the collective responsibility we hold and the roles we can each play in providing environments that foster good health and well-being. The importance of communities and how we welcome those different from ourselves. Open and inclusive spaces in our cities, institutions and organisations. Teaching our kids kindness and compassion. Workplaces prioritising culture and designing work in ways to support good mental health as part of holistic wellbeing of staff across their whole lives; recognising we are not just workers but humans with mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and whānau needs. Fruitbowls and Gym memberships are great, but focus on psychologically safe environments, purpose and flexibility any day! The crucial role too of offering the right resources for diverse needs, not just one size fits all, so that everyone has what they need to thrive and feels valued, supported and included. Well-being supports culture and engagement, and it’s also a lever for productivity, so it's a win/win Aotearoa! #FutureOfWork #TeWhareTapaWha #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #Wellbeing #CollectiveSupportMatters #StrongerTogether

As we mark 🌿Mental Health Awareness Month🌿, I am reminded of the profound responsibility we have as HR professionals to nurture not just the physical, but also the mental and emotional well-being of our associates. At Marcum LLP, we’re committed to fostering a supportive and understanding workplace, offering a diverse range of resources to help our associates on their path to wellness. One of my personal favorite initiatives for this month is our "Mental Health Mondays" newsletter. This valuable resource kicks off the week with insightful discussions on starting your mental health journey, coping strategies for stress and anxiety, and ways to forge supportive connections within and outside the workplace. Investing in the mental health of our associates is not just a commitment – it’s a priority that benefits us all. This May, let’s engage, support, and uplift one another. Together, we can break down the barriers to mental health. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #WorkplaceMentalHealth #MarcumWellness #EmployeeWellbeing #MentalHealthMatters
