There’s a new way for Pinners to share their creative process and inspiration beyond Pinterest. It’s Board Sharing, a new feature that Pinterest just announced that lets users to share their Pinterest boards across social media. 🛠️ How it works: When users go to share a public board now, a video will auto-generate. Users can edit the Pins that are included in the video or select different templates. They can then share via ‘Add to Story’ or ‘Download’ buttons. The former will open Instagram, where users can also copy and paste the board’s URL as a Link Sticker and share it as an Instagram Story. The latter allows users to download the video and share it anywhere, like Instagram Reels and TikTok. The videos also include the curator’s name and handle. This comes as Pinterest has over 10 billion boards curated across the platform, with a significant increase in the number of boards being created by Gen Z users — they’re outpacing other generations. 🤔 Why It Matters: Board Sharing provides a streamlined way for users to share their boards in a visually engaging manner on other platforms. This can help creators expand the reach of their content by sharing it with their audiences outside of Pinterest, notably on Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Threads, and even LinkedIn, which has been delving deeper into short-form videos. The integration with Instagram Stories, in particular, has the potential to drive viewers to visit the creators’ Pinterest accounts, explore more of their content, and follow them if they aren’t already. In addition to helping users share their inspiration and creative processes, Board Sharing will be a handy feature for creator-brand collaborations. Creators can amplify sponsored boards on other platforms where they have audiences. Whether it’s new formats like Collages or new ways to share Pinterest content like this, the platform is continuing to attract Gen Z, which makes up over 40% of the global user base. #pinterest #socialmedia #influencermarketing
