Important to understand issues of recovery and reintegration from the perspectives of those living through it!
Definitions of recovery and reintegration across the first year: A qualitative study of perspectives of persons with spinal cord injury and caregivers The objective of this study is to understand how people with newly acquired spinal cord injury (PWS) and their support person (SP) define recovery and successful community reintegration (CR) across the first 12 months post-injury (mpi) and their satisfaction with the rate of recovery and reintegration experienced. November or should I say MOVEMBER, is Men's Health Awareness Month. It is a time to focus on men’s health, including raising awareness about prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s mental health in general. Self Care Therapy For Chronic Conditions encourages men to prioritize their pelvic health, which plays an important role in overall health and well-being, and to take early action to address pelvic health concerns this month. Physical therapy is widely known to aid in recovery after surgery or injury to major joints, but many people aren't aware that it can also support a multitude of men's health issues. One of the most common conditions treated in men by physical therapists is pelvic floor dysfunction, caused by impaired use of the pelvic floor and surrounding muscles, ligaments, and joints that support your pelvic organs. Pelvic floor dysfunction can take many forms, and your physical therapist can help identify and treat the source of your symptoms.

LinkedIn Community – In my Evidence Informed Practice class, I delved into the effectiveness of Dry Needling in alleviating Myofascial Trigger Points in patients suffering from Neck Pain. Neck and shoulder pain is a widespread musculoskeletal issue, affecting roughly 45-54% of the population, with a higher prevalence among women. Myofascial pain syndrome stands out as a major contributor to this discomfort, often triggered by prolonged static postures and repetitive upper extremity movements. While various interventions exist to address this type of pain, the question persists: is there a singular intervention that can expedite patients' return to normal function? This critical appraisal examines the efficacy of trigger point dry needling compared to manual therapy for trigger point treatment, aiming to discern which approach better alleviates neck pain and reduces functional disability. Check out my CAT attached and leave a comment with your thoughts. Thanks for engaging!
