Please join us in our fundraising effort to support the Crohn’s and Colitis foundation. We do this to support all our friends and family who struggle silently with the disease. We need your help in forming teams, securing sponsorship, or donating to the cause. Get ready for a great fun! We will be hosting our flag football event at Ford Field -Go Lions on on February 10, 2024, day before the Super Bowl. How cool is that!!! Our goal for 2023 is to raise $135,000 and have 30 teams signed-up. All the funds need to be raised by January 5th. So far, we have raised ~$105,000 and have ~27 teams signed-up. We can’t do this without your support. Please share with your teams to help us spread the word. The Foundation has played a role in every breakthrough in IBD research and has invested more than $400 million into finding the causes, treatments, and cures for Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis. We hope you all have enjoyed a successful start to the new year and are preparing for Race for a Reason just as we are. Across its history, Race for a Reason's roots tie back to raising money and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, specifically with the two charities Sean's Pals and Lilly's Sunshine. To give a more in-depth description of our beneficiaries and information about the disease, Kevin Abrams '98 has provided a letter to give us all a better understanding. Both current MBA/MSA classes have come together and created the idea for the first annual "Race for a Reason Fundraising Challenge" which will take place this upcoming Saturday, February 17th in efforts to raise $10,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Currently, have raised over $4,300! The rules behind this challenge are simple: The classes will compete in an O'Malley Cup Competition to see which class can raise the most money for their respective reason. The Class of 2024 will be representing Sean's Pals, while the Class of 2025 will be representing Lilly's Sunshine. All donations to each team will go straight to each charity, which ultimately donates to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The classes will have to find the most creative ways to raise money with all of these events occurring between 9 AM - 5 PM. How to Donate and follow along: If you are feeling inclined, the link to donate is attached directly below! Any amount will help as it can be any dollar that finds the cure. If you would like to give to a specific class, you can select it in the drop-down menu when donating. If you do not want to choose, the donations will be split between the classes/charities! Thank you, thank you, thank you all that have contributed and helped me not only reach but surpass my fundraising goals so quickly! Together we have raised: 🚴♂️ $236 for American Heart Association's 100 Mile Bike Challenge - Achieving 131% of the Fundraising Goal 🏊♂️ $200 for American Cancer Society's 10 Mile Swim Challenge - Achieving 110% of the Fundraising Goal I always like to overdeliver on client projects by smashing the paid-media result benchmarks, but this time the round of applause does not go to the Advocaczi team, the recognition goes to all of you for helping me spread awareness and putting your hard dollars to work for an incredible cause! As promised (and requested by many) from the start, I will be sharing my Endurance Challenge pacing ever week, and so far my stats are as follows: - Cycled 74.96 Miles as of June 17th so I've reached ~75% of the target in 56% of the Month, it's going great! - Swam 2 Miles as of June 17th so I've reached ~20% of the target in 56% of the Month, it's going not so great! Before everyone gets on me for the 10 Mile Swim challenge, Miami had rough storms all of last week, which limited me from getting in the water - but I promise I will reach the 10 Miles by the end of the Month ... and if anybody needs me, I'll be in the water catching up on my swim miles! PS. Well done to Jade Springett for hiking up Mount Snowdon in 45mph wind and torrential rain to raise money for MS Society alongside 4 friends. So far they have raised £4400 for an amazing charity so close to their hearts. MS is an invisible disability and everyday comes with different challenges. Whilst there is currently no cure, there are disease modifying treatments (DMT’s) to help manage the symptoms and help reduce further disability. In recent years - research into MS is progressing and developing but funding is much needed for this to happen. Please help them reach their target of £4500. All donations help fund research into new treatments; and ways to help people live better with MS. So, donating to charities help communities more than the government programs help their recipients. Most charities (I'm keeping a positive attitude) have a good purpose intended by the charity's founders. Charities and churches have the responsibility to help their communities. Never did the U.S. Constitution suggest that the tax revenues should be spent on social issues and welfare programs. Rights are not inherent in social programs. Everyone has a right to be successful which is allowed by the 1st Amendment. No one has the right to tell you that you can not be as successful as you chose. If we supported the churches and charity organizations who truly help people with their needs our Country would truly be a wealthy country.
