Thats great. But K-ID isn't the first to focus on student privacy and control of their data. And its not just gaming. What about all of K-12, not just teens. The other platforms no one has seen yet. Like pledgecircle, where the real data silo lies.
#WorthReading Supercell greenlights teams, not games

ChatGPT summary to hook you up:
Supercell's CEO Ilkka Paananen and former Hay Day lead Stephan Demirdjian introduce Team Lab, a rigorous process for greenlighting game teams. Team Lab focuses on team dynamics, utilizing psychologists and stress tests to ensure compatibility and resilience. Paananen emphasizes the importance of team over ideas, aiming to create an optimal environment for team impact. The process involves formal greenlight panels, entrepreneurial thinking, and stress-testing team compositions. External teams are now welcome to pitch ideas, maintaining a mobile-first focus for now. The goal is to attract top talent and foster innovation while maintaining Supercell's renowned culture.
Modulate hosted a great conversation on the main stage at #GBsummit this week!
CTO & Co-founder Carter Huffman chatted with Jeremy Joiner (Pragma), Stefan Ideler (i3D.net) and Amy Jo Kim on the must-haves for developers getting ready to launch live services games in 2024:
🤲🏽 Partners, not just providers: Think about the longevity of the relationships you are building and be diligent in deciding which back-end services providers you decide to work with. A great services provider should be a partner in guiding the technical design of a game.
🚀A little goes a long way: Consider what kind of community you want to build in your live services game. How will players communicate with the developer team and with one another? How can you build in safety protections from the outset? Even a little thought and planning in the beginning can go a long way in mitigating bigger problems down the road.
🤔 Get to know your players: From beta testing to launching and beyond, create listening mechanisms and choose metrics to understand why your community is growing or not. Is there an issue with cross-platform connectivity, negative community culture, latency issues? The faster you can assess and understand issues, the better you'll be able to adapt.

Build it, and they will come……..
Well, judging by our Launch Party at F1® Arcade London on Friday, a truer saying there hasn’t been.
When something built from and idea I had during our final lockdown in 2020 has taken that long, from idea - to brand - to prototype - to product - to the App & Google Play Stores, having a clear, single event to announce it to the world was a really amazing way to bring all of the many hours of work to a head 🚀
So there it is, FINT Invest, the app built to empower the next generation of investors.

Tackling Loneliness in the Digital Age
Digital connections have skyrocketed, yet feelings of isolation persist more than ever, especially in tech.
How is your company ensuring that employees aren’t just connected online but genuinely bonded offline?
I've been perfecting the @PlayingCamp's unique approach - using nature and non-verbal games to create authentic connections.

Remember that epic weekend getaway with friends? Or that hilarious night filled with bad karaoke and even worse dance moves? Lapse lets you relive those moments with the same raw, unfiltered joy you felt when they happened.
Unlike other platforms obsessed with #likes and #followers , Lapse is all about capturing real moments with the people you love. No filters, no chasing clout, just pure, unadulterated fun.
This awesome photo-sharing app, inspired by the simplicity of disposable cameras, just landed a whopping £23.6 million in Series A funding! Huge congrats to the Lapse team – this is a major win for anyone who craves a more genuine social media experience.
Co-led by prominent investors Greylock and DST Global Partners, validates the growing demand for a more authentic social media experience. Existing investors GV (Google Ventures), Octopus Ventures, and Speedinvest were joined by notable angels like @Naveen Gavini, Soleio , Nima Khajehnouri, and Praveen Murugesan, showcasing strong confidence in Lapse's mission.
Their recent funding means they'll be able to build on this vision, fueled by user feedback and a growing team.
Here's what one investor, Jacob Andreou from Greylock, had to say: "Lapse resonates with a generation that craves real connection over online clout." Couldn't agree more! Lapse puts the focus back on capturing memories with friends, not the number of likes you get!
As a user and a huge Lapse fan, I can't wait to see how they keep innovating and making it even easier to share authentic moments with the people who matter most. I'm so excited to see what they do next!
At present, Lapse is exclusively accessible for #IOS download. I anticipate that #Android users will also have the opportunity to enjoy Lapse in the future, embracing the delight of capturing authentic moments rather than orchestrated perfection.

P.S. What are some of your favourite real-life moments you'd love to capture?
