Or is their capacity to apply that experience and do the job successfully in the future? In all likelihood, it's a bit of both. But depending on the role you're recruiting for, really challenge what your must-haves are, and how those appear to candidates considering applying to your open jobs. Encourage workers to use personal social media to write their honest opinions and evaluations as part of their work day. The problems that come with this are as follows: - How to use these technologies is dictated by management -- since these are personal accounts rather than corporate accounts. - Management doesn't see this as work, and requests employees to do this on their own time, even though this is most certainly work. - Performance isn't easily measured for this. - Individuals don't necessarily have awareness over their self-control when it comes to these social media platforms, so it might not always turn out great. If you're going to promote your business, have marketing do interviews with staff and produce something to make everyone look good. They'll feel ownership over the final product, feel like they're being listened to, and get paid for it. Bonus if you can link their personal linkedin to the videos or podcasts that result.
Promoting your open jobs to potential applicants? Make it a team sport! HR or marketing are most likely to be writing the job postings and subsequent listings. But everyone in the organization has a network of talented professionals they know who might have interest in your open jobs.
