Today I’m at Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology. Fascinating day. The first speaker has been responsible for data and analytics. He discussed how the team at Red Bull had used data in their approach to winning and dominating the sport. The message was clear. 🏎️ Put the decision making next to the data. This is something I’d said in my last post too. ❌ Where companies go wrong is removing the ability to make decisions. ✅ Where they are successful is when they create an environment with authority right next to the data. This is key to enabling solid supply chains. Enable your buyers, logistics, finance, HR and all departments. Excited to announce I'm embarking on a data-driven journey to tackle a real-world challenge: understanding how different user groups interact with a bike-share program! This self-study project, inspired by the Google Analytics course on Coursera, will see me dive deep into historical bike trip data, exploring the usage patterns of two distinct rider types: annual members and casual riders. By wielding the power of analytics, I aim to uncover: Hidden Trends: How do these groups differ in their trip duration, distance, frequency, and preferred stations? Are there distinct patterns that emerge? Motivational Factors: What drives casual riders to choose Cyclistic? Can understanding their needs pave the way for effective conversion strategies? Digital Influence: How can Cyclistic leverage digital media to influence casual riders and nudge them towards annual memberships? This project isn't just about bikes and data; it's about: Sharpening my analytical skills: I'll be flexing my muscles in data cleaning, manipulation, visualization, and modeling to extract valuable insights.
