You might not expect it, but snowboarding and sales have some surprising similarities. I've always been motivated by discovering connections between seemingly unrelated things. Hoping my rant fuels some positive to your Friday! Since moving to Patagonia (Post pandemic decision, I think one of my best ones so far) I have started to be interested in challenging myself in new grounds. Being from El Salvador, and moving to Buenos Aires to study, winter sports just weren't an option. I've been a Marketer for 10 years, closing deals wasn't something previously on my plate, now it is. It's been over 5 years for me in the recruiting industry leading me to be a Practice Leader, helping place LATAM talent with Nearshore Direct. Sales and Snowboarding are new grounds for me. Loving the challenge! Both require skills that develop over time, the ability to adapt to different situations, setting clear goals, and dealing with your own pace. No race baby! Both require the need to manage distractions and fears. If you try to turn too quickly, you'll fall on your ass, and you're back in square 1. Patience and trust is something needed to succeed. Whether you're mastering slopes or closing deals, success comes from staying determined, always improving, and managing risks effectively. Embracing these unexpected parallels and using it as motivation. Remember if you do fall, try to make the best out of it. Easy with this view! You win or you learn 🏂 #fridayrant #snowboarding #sales #motivation

Finding Balance on the Road: A Perspective from a Stihl Canada Regional Manager. As a Stihl Canada Regional Manager, I have the privilege of experiencing the beauty of British Columbia's coastal region while balancing the demands of my professional role. Here's why alternating weeks on the road in my opinion offers unique benefits: Connecting with Nature: Working amidst British Columbia's coastal landscapes isn't just a job perk—it's a daily reminder of the importance of our natural surroundings. From forests to shorelines, each moment spent in nature reminds me of the beautiful province I call home. • Building Relationships: Traveling for work presents ample opportunities to connect with local Stihl end-users, communities , indigenous peoples, and of course my valued Stihl dealers in the region. These opportunities to meet face to face help grow the relationships between our brand and the people that use and sell the products. • Personal Growth and Reflection: Embracing the rhythm of alternating weeks between my home ground and office with the open road encourages personal growth and self-reflection. Stepping away from the daily grind offers valuable perspective, allowing me to recharge, refocus, and return with renewed energy and enthusiasm. • Promoting Brand Presence: Through immersing myself in the communities we serve, I not only represent Stihl Canada but also embody our core values of reliability, innovation, and integrity. This regular engagement and participation, alongside fellow regional managers across the country, are instrumental in solidifying our position as a trusted partner and industry leader. In summary, my role as a Regional Manager in British Columbia's coastal region goes beyond business—it's a journey of connection, growth, and brand growth. By embracing the road, I continue to find inspiration in the natural world and strength in the relationships forged along the way. To everyone taking a moment to read this post and has either experienced or is currently engaged in careers that require frequent travel, I welcome you to share your experiences—both positive and challenging—as a 'Road Warrior' in the comments! #stihlcanada #stihl #regionalmanager #travelforwork #britishcolumbia #stihltirol #stihluk #stihlaustralia #stihlusa #lifeontheroad #stihldealers #roadwarrior #echo #powerbeyondbelief #kress #husqvarna #johndeere #kubota #toro #exmark #greenworks #professionalgrowth #lifeworkbalance #cityofvancouver #batterytools

Finding Your Work "Soulmate": Decoding Company Culture Before Saying "I Do" When it comes to job hunting, it's not just about finding a role that fits your skills and experience. It's also crucial to find a company culture that resonates with your values and working style. Think of it as seeking a home away from home. After all, you'll be spending a significant portion of your day (and life!) within this environment, so it's essential to ensure its somewhere you'll feel comfortable and motivated. So how do you get a sense of a company's culture before you're on the inside? Start by doing some detective work online. Check out their website, social media channels, and any available employee reviews. Look for clues about their values, work-life balance, and how they treat their employees. Remember, a good fit isn't just about you fitting into the company, but the company fitting into your life too. At JYSK, every colleague from the head office experiences working in a JYSK store at some point in their career. 👔 The store introduction is a part of our onboarding programme for new head office colleagues and often becomes a valuable aspect of their ongoing professional career. The purpose is to create a broad understanding of operations across the entire organisation. 🏢 💬 "I gained insight into the daily experiences of the store team, understanding the challenges they face, and discovering collaborative solutions. Understanding the activities in the store helps HR to carry out processes, emphasising the connection between people and the tasks they handle," says Johanna Chivaran, HR Manager in JYSK Romania. In some of our countries, the management team takes charge of a JYSK store for an entire day, allowing the regular staff a well-deserved day off. In other instances, the apprentices take over the store for a day, giving Store Managers a day off. 🛒 💬 "The store day is something completely different from my daily activities. The experience of working in the store helps me to understand my colleagues' roles and the challenges they navigate daily," says Cristian Cuzmin, Financial Manager in JYSK Romania, Bulgaria and Türkiye. It’s not just about a day in a store; it's a strategic investment in fostering a collaborative, informed, and empathetic team, where every role is valued. 🚀 #proudtobeJYSK #retail #store #operations #development
