May 10, 2024, marks Military Spouse Appreciation Day, a reminder of the sacrifices and resilience of those who stand behind our service members.
In her recent Forbes article, C200 member Suzie Scanlon Rabinowitz (SRD Legal Group) explains the critical importance of supporting military spouse employment, emphasizing its profound impact on both individual families and our nation's strength.
Unemployment among military spouses isn't just a personal challenge—it's a national concern. When financial strain hits military families, it reverberates through our armed forces, affecting morale and readiness. By hiring military spouses, businesses not only enrich their own talent pool but also bolster the backbone of our nation's defense.

To my fellow women in the military, joining the military presented a set of unique challenges.
Leaving the military will do the same.
I went through this transition myself. Feelings of wanting to hide from my service, avoid the trauma that occurred while I was an active member, and more.
I get it.
Transitioning from military service can be complex, especially when our identity feels intertwined with our veteran status. Although some may seamlessly adopt new identities post-service, others grapple with a lingering attachment to their military role. It's natural to question who we are beyond our veteran title, but it's also an opportunity for self-discovery and growth beyond our service. Let's navigate this journey with compassion and openness, embracing the multifaceted identities that make us who we are.
Share this with a female veteran if you know one.
What do you think? Do you agree? What are some challenges you have faced or anticipate facing as a female service member transitioning into civilian life?
This week we've released our latest report: Women in the Military. Recognizing the vital contributions of women in the U.S. Armed Forces, this report explores the continuing challenges they face as they volunteer to serve their country. While many issues for women are improving, that trend needs to continue, and more can be done to rectify the ongoing issues that if not addressed, will contribute to further challenges in filling the recruiting gap.

Strength comes in many different forms. For Faith, one of our tenacious female employees, being strong is more than physical. It’s about being confident and resilient, especially in a mostly male-dominated field like the military. We’re celebrating #WomensHistoryMonth listening to the empowering stories of 3 of our female employees. 💪 #ManyStoriesOneMission
