We all need to lower the bar on customer content. And make it easier to get. It’s increasingly valuable currency in a competitive market. But too often we spend time trying to craft the perfect case study when we could be sharing relateable examples. A few weeks ago, I sent a single email. And had 24 customers respond with examples of work they had created with Appcues. I expected maybe 10. ❌ We didn’t offer a gift card. ❌ We didn’t give discounts. ❌ We didn’t raffle swag. We just asked for a favor. (Literally that was the subject line.) Customers have a choice of where to spend their hard-earned dollars. Make sure you make them feel valued and appreciated for choosing your brand. It's as simple as introducing yourself. Speaking to them in an upbeat tone. Asking and using their name to make an emotional connection. Asking for the recipients name so you can personalize the card (if applicable). I've stopped the purchase of a gift card in the middle of the transaction. I felt I was simply being processed through the transaction and the employee didn't care about my purchase.
