Dear LG India Customers, India's No 1 washing machine brand has adopted complete silence when asked for a clarification on the #WashingMachineScam. Their so-called washing machines have actually same wash capacity determined on the basis of the internal components, same Motor, same Drum, same Water volume, same power consumption and even same label on back. Why different capacity labels on their washing machines, when 6kg to 8kg washing machines are actually same. Only wash programs are different leading to no change in Wash capacity. I have been deliberately ignored by the team of LG India from a Decade. Even some LG employees have blocked me since my last LinkedIn post. Joining Panasonic, formerly Matsushita, in 1997 marked a pivotal moment in my career. As Head of Global Sourcing, Procurement, and SCM, I was introduced to the esteemed Panasonic brand—a beacon of innovation globally. Incidentally this was my first true MNC experience. My journey at Panasonic was defined by the immersive Morning Assembly ritual, where we recited the seven principles of Matsushita. These principles continue to inspire with me even today : 1. Contribution to Society: A commitment to meaningful impact. 2. Fairness and Honesty: Upholding integrity and transparency. 3. Cooperation and Team Spirit: Fostering collaboration and inclusivity. 4. Untiring Efforts for Improvements: Embracing continuous growth and innovation. 5. Courtesy and Humility: Cultivating respect and empathy. 6. Adaptability: Navigating change with agility and resilience. 7. Gratitude: Practicing appreciation and acknowledgment. These principles have left an indelible mark, shaping my leadership philosophy and personal values. They serve as guiding lights, inspiring excellence in all aspects of life and work. My journey at Panasonic was more than a career milestone—it was a transformative experience that continues to influence my approach to life. Grateful for the lessons learned, I always remember Matsushita's legacy of excellence, integrity, and societal contribution in all endeavours.

Our Chairwoman, Leslie Cantu, has been a trailblazer in the Manufacturing Industry, always ready to venture into areas others might avoid. One such initiative is Second Chance hiring, which allows companies to tap into underutilized talent pools. Did you know about fidelity bonding? This service helps job applicants facing challenges in securing employment. The Texas Workforce Commission offers this free service to help companies feel secure when hiring individuals who might otherwise struggle to find work. Essentially an insurance policy, it protects companies against dishonest acts like theft. Key points about fidelity bonding: - Free for six months: After this period, companies can choose to continue at their own expense. - Coverage: Typically $5,000 with no deductible. - Quick and easy: No forms, no long wait times; coverage can start immediately. Eligibility: - Individuals involved with the justice system - Those with poor credit history - Dishonorably discharged veterans - Public assistance recipients - Individuals with a history of substance abuse - Disadvantaged youth with no work history - Those not approved for other bonding systems *Note: Self-employed individuals are not covered, and the bond does not cover poor work skills, injuries, or accidents. How to Request a Fidelity Bond: Visit any Workforce Solutions office. Either the job seeker or the employer can request bonding, and coverage can start immediately upon approval or on the first day of work. The bond is mailed to the employer and is valid for six months, with the option to extend. Let’s continue to embrace these innovative solutions and create more opportunities for those ready for a second chance!
Leslie Cantu, vice president of administration at Toyotetsu North America (Texas), believes that second chance hiring is 100% worth the effort. Discover how your organization to tap into this opportunity: https://bit.ly/3UdcarF

Potentially exciting technology, especially for autonomous vehicles. The range of motion of passengers in autonomous vehicles is greater than that of traditional cars, which is why on many autonomous public transport systems the speed is restricted. Looking to the future, if we want to rethink the conventional forward-facing seating layout in high-speed travel we need more innovative safety systems like the one below that go beyond the classical airbags and seat restraints. What do you think? How can we facilitate safe flexible use of the interior space? How long until autonomous vehicles are deemed so safe that we don't need restraint systems for most of the journey?
Today, Yanfeng held an event in Changshu, China to announce a breakthrough in safety solutions for future mobility scenarios. This new technology, targeted for the China market, contains a package of safety solutions incorporated into the passenger seat, consisting of several innovative components which together provide safety measures intended to reduce injuries from collisions when occupants are seated in a large angle forward seating position. A strong news this week, but one that has been rumoured for some time. Arçelik Global and Whirlpool Corporation are officially joining forces and #BekoEurope has become reality. This creates a major new player in the European market 👉 whose brand portfolio is seriously growing with the Whirlpool background, together with access to an even larger market. Production capacity is now more than 22 million #whitegoods -> this speaks for itself. This is a very interesting case study of the global rivalry between eastern and western markets and how to compete with cheaper-to-produce devices that additionally have more features. I wrote more about this last week ⬇️⬇️ #homeappliances Beko Global
The rivalry between western and 🌏 eastern #production industries is gaining momentum and each side has its own 'patents' for this. The #jointventure between Whirlpool Corporation and Turkey's Arçelik Global is an interesting example of how Western concerns can build their 📈 growth. It is a case study of how, through consolidation and parallel relocation, costs can be reduced and a range of other benefits generated. Arcelik has a portfolio of several #homeappliances production branches that have been withdrawn from Europe to Asia. 👉 Whirlpool, on the basis of the Beko Global platform, therefore wants to produce precisely those white goods that have escaped from the EU. Such consolidation also means combining several product platforms into one (resulting in lower unit manufacturing costs) and unifying product structures (lower costs already at the design stage). Another advantage of this move is that Whirlpool is able to obtain components suppliers from the Turkish market, which are in short on the European market ➡️ e.g. electric motors or controllers. With a handful of key industry components (motors / controllers / electronics) and low manufacturing costs, now it can compete much more boldly and build a competitive edge over Asian competitors. #plastics #development

I agree Nigel, it was an energising experience with SMT members to welcome the new Graduates of 2024 to QVC Japan and we are lucky to have new talent with fresh perspective join our business to ‘create our future’ together. During the ceremony, we all expressed our appreciation as each new member of our teams introduced themselves. And when it was our turn to say some words of encouragement, here is some of what I shared: “While I have no doubt you will find QVC to be one of the most unique and interesting places to work. Pretty much everything here will be new to all of you so learning will of course come naturally. If there are some things I could say to you as you embark on your journey with us… I would encourage you to demonstrate a growth mindset. Approaching each new challenge as a chance to grow. Corporate life is never short of challenges but know that you are not alone in overcoming these challenges 1 by 1 and help is only one question away from you to get the support you need. Take time to get to know the business. Get to know your team, your trainers and partners in other functions and set yourself goals and align with your leaders. And consider what areas to focus on to become a leader of self so you can grow to realise your personal best and beyond. Be Brave. Ask questions. I am still asking questions after 17 years as this business continues to evolve and we are always looking for new ways to Enrich Life’s Every Day Moments, through the experiences we create, the connections we make, and the products we curate. There is a Japanese Proverb which says ‘Nanakorobi Yaoki’. ‘Fall seven times, get up eight’. This is around demonstrating resilience, diligence and persistence, however many setbacks you face, never give up and always keep trying. And lastly, a quote from a Japanese psychiatrist and writer Shigeta Saito which always resonates with me when I think about a growth mindset and allowing yourself the freedom to try and learn. 人生に失敗がないと、人生を失敗する Romanization: Jinsei ni shippai ga nai to, jinsei o shippai suru Literally: “If you have no failure in life, you will fail in life.” Meaning: If you want to succeed in life, you must learn from your failures. Thank you for choosing to join our team.”
Delighted to welcome another strong batch of graduate talent at our QVC Japan offices… We look forward to working with you all! 入社おめでとうございます。これから皆さんと一緒に働ける事を嬉しく思います。 #qvcjapan #graduaterecruiting #qurateretailgroup
