Here at Wattch, we love good solar loss data, especially when it comes with surprise conclusions. For example, despite only representing 2% of claims, hail damage results in over half of total claims costs. By comparison, mechanical and electrical failures combined only result in about ~15% of costs. Seeing this data helps put things in perspective when we talk about monitoring and mitigating risks in #solar installations.

Been a while since I have posted due to the amount of contracting works we are wading through. A personal project come good. Trying to grab the odd hour where possible to fine tune has paid off! After some trial and error with my home based GivEnergy system, altering inverter settings, Battery configuration and maximum output settings, have got some great results. In short, if my inverter could have charged the battery quicker (for this recent three day period) I would have only used 4.3 kWh across a 3 day period. I have a second inverter (to be installed shortly) which will have no solar input, only a CT monitor to only capture exported energy from the grid connection point, upstream of my main setup, this will funnel into 8.2 kW battery for any escaped generation. Keep in mind this is based in Scotland, where I'm fairly sure I saw Noah's Ark cruise by this morning! 🌞 🌧 ⛵ #GivEnergy #solarpower
