At the recent Cellular Agriculture Innovation Day at Tufts University, experts and industry shared various perspectives on #scaling #cultivatedmeat production. While some highlighted investor risk aversion to investing in capex to scale production, others called for more government support to support the industry with low-interest government loans. In particular, to scale production, bioprocessing startup Ark Biotech shared its plans to develop larger bioreactors, up to 1 million liters, by leveraging novel airlift technologies. In late 2023, Ark Biotech successfully ran a 1,250-liter bioreactor with a cultivated meat company, with multiple ongoing trials with different species. #cellag #cellbasedmeat
