AI failed in McDonald's voice ordering system, leading to incorrect orders and customer dissatisfaction, prompting the halt of trials. The company has halted trials of its AI system that was tested in over 100 US locations since 2021. It faced scrutiny after videos surfaced online showing misinterpreted instructions. Examples include ice cream topped with bacon and an order with chicken nuggets priced at $211. It's important to conduct thorough ad-hoc testing of AI systems before integrating them into business processes.
