As many of you know, life has been a bit of a balancing act lately. Between pushing hard to grow The Cove Sports Recovery Ltd., managing the Canadian warehouse for Blonyx, and still trying to be a present husband and dad to three amazing kids, let’s just say things have been… busy. And, because I apparently love to keep life interesting, I’m diving into training for some pretty ambitious goals for April 2025.
Here’s the plan:
Run the Midnight Commuter 58 Ultra in 6 hours
Run a sub 4:30 mile in the same month (because why not?)
Squat 500lbs – gotta keep the CrossFit strength in check!
And of course, still be able to CrossFit and ride well on top of it all.
I know what you’re thinking… “Nick, how are you going to pull all this off while juggling two jobs and a family?” To be honest, it’s been a bit of a struggle to get the training started consistently—especially when you throw in my never-ending desire to be a great dad and husband. But hey, this week we officially start, and it's happening. If you're reading this, you’ve got to hold me accountable!
For me, it’s all about being ready for whatever comes next—whether it’s the next adventure, the next rep, the next stride, or the next milestone in my kids’ lives. That’s why I live by the slogan “For the next one.” Whatever life throws at me, I want to be ready. Sometimes that means fitting in a squat session at 6 AM before the kids wake up, and sometimes it means slowing down to be present for my family. Either way, I’m all in.
If you’ve got big goals and a lot of plates to spin, I feel you. It’s a wild ride, but there’s no better feeling than knowing you’re giving it your all in every part of your life.
Here’s to the next one – let’s make it count!
