Since everything interaction has moved online, we are missing the human connection that would give us visual clues if someone were a fraudster, or if someone is getting frustrated filling out an application. Behavioral analytics is the digital answer to that human connection. By using behavioral analytics on your website and applications, you can see the user’s digital body language, filling in the lost human elements. You can assess the human, not the data. Read this superlative blog by NeuroID which is leveraging over a decade of dedicated research and development, and is reshaping behavioral analytics. With a staggering analysis of 100M onboarding journeys and a wealth of over 1 trillion translated behavioral data points, they are empowering customers with faster, friction-smart, and finance-friendly onboarding processes. https://lnkd.in/d-mPRuSh #behaviour #analytics #fraud #blog
Biometrics connect a person’s data to who they are: that facial scan is connecting your phone to your identity as its owner. Behavioral analytics, on the other hand, connects a user’s behavior to their intention—not their identity. While biometrics track characteristics, behavioral analytics track distinct actions. Scot Dunn, Chief Digital & Innovation Officer at Humberside Police delivered a keynote during Police Strategy Forum on the work his and our team have been doing around applying AI for risk analysis and data mapping. Our work has been focused around one of the most difficult use cases - real time, high importance, domestic abuse calls. To say that I'm incredibly proud of what both teams achieved within such challenging timeframe, proving the value and driving significant advancements in AI utilisation in policing... would be a big understatement. This initiative aims to augment human operators' capabilities, not to replace them. As one FCR operator described it to us - "It's like a safety net" - making sure that no information is missed and that help arrives quickly preventing tragedy. During the keynote, Scot detailed how this implementation has enhanced data quality, enabling operators to make more efficient and consistent decisions for public and officer safety. The widespread interest from national and international forces makes me hopeful for broader adoption in an industry that often defaults to outdated and less effective solutions. I'm proud of teams like Humberside, who welcome innovation and pave the way for progress. 🙋🏼♀️ If you're working within the Blue Light sector and would like to know more, I'm happy to chat. #ai #policing #innovation #datamapping #riskanalysis

Humberside Police is leading an innovative project that integrates AI and various digital technologies into their operations. With a focus on transcription, data mapping, and risk analysis—especially in domestic abuse calls—the initiative aims to augment human operators' capabilities. Scot details how this implementation has enhanced data quality, enabling operators to make more efficient and consistent decisions for public and officer safety. Supported by stakeholder resources, the project has shown promising results within a challenging timeframe, driving significant advancements in AI utilisation. #PoliceSF #DigitalTransformation #DataQuality #PublicSafety

The difficulties policing faces around the scale and complexity of digital data are widely acknowledged, but what about the potential for new technology to overcome some of those challenges? In the second in a series of five features looking at the police use of data, Policing Insight’s Keith Potter looks at some of the ways new tech – including automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning – are being employed in both investigative and preventative approaches. 'The police data challenge’ is an independent editorial series researched and written by Policing Insight and commissioned by Cognyte. ❝Law enforcement is looking increasingly to automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning for solutions to those challenges; early indications are that these technologies hold huge potential for policing.❞ ❝The use of link analysis has significantly increased over recent years, and is really, really helpful in serious organised crime investigations to help investigators understand the social connections between suspects or associates.❞ - Paul Williamson MSc PGCAP LLB (Hons) FHEA, former regional Head of Investigations, National Crime Agency (NCA) ❝The resources in ROCUs weren’t talking to each other. They weren’t sharing data, they weren’t sharing intelligence.❞ - DCS Kate Thacker, Tackling Organised Exploitation Programme (TOEX) ❝When you start applying natural language processing to key words, phrases, and things that might be associated with human trafficking, you pull out of the woodwork tons of intelligence that actually begins to show links, and a broader pattern.❞ - Sir David Thompson QPM DL , former West Midlands Police Chief Constable ❝Every single serious case review you pick up, you will find that data sharing is a problem.❞ - Supt Lewis Prescott -Mayling, Thames Valley Police ❝Intelligence hasn’t fully reached its potential yet. At the moment it’s very reactive, in terms of intelligence being used in investigations. I do think we will be able to risk assess somebody’s potential to commit an offence and wrap around an element of prevention.❞ - CC Lisa Winward, National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) National Intelligence Lead https://lnkd.in/e4SzyKVe 'The police data challenge' The aim of this series of features is to get the thoughts and opinions of those involved in the policing data process – from practitioners past and present, to national leads, subject matter experts and academics – on the challenges around resources and technology, the potential for the latest tech to help police meet them, how law enforcement can ensure community buy-in, and the likely roadmap for the police use of data in intelligence and investigations over the next few years. https://lnkd.in/eVPddaZp #lawenforcement #policing #police #technology #dataanalytics #artificialintelligence #machinelearning
