When I laughed heartily for straight 1 hours yesterday evening, it felt so good. There was also a realization that laughter therapy is needed more often than we acknowledge. Thank you a zillion times Shraddha Jain (aiyyoShraddha) for what I would call a masterclass in communication that kept everyone thoroughly engaged. No cheap shots, just pure and witty comedic brilliance. Take a bow. You made so many of us feel nostalgic and alive with 'So Mini Things'. Creating more oases for laughter in day-to-day life can be a powerful antidote to increasing stress and anxiety. The tangible benefits include getting high dosage mood-booster shots. Its good for heart-health too. And which other universal language can help us connect better with others than a hearty dose of laughter, the best medicine! Can we take laughter more seriously? Imagine institutions/organizations with dedicated laughter clubs and comedy communities that everyone benefits from. If funniest email or responses could be highlighted; if there could be comedy workshops/ improv theatres instead of just serious stuff all the time; if only the culture could be opened up more...(the possibilities can be endless) Hope all of us can be mindful towards laughing more, stressing less, and creating a healthier, happier world. Day 7: Do you schedule in time for a laughter break? You may have heard of the old saying “laughter is the best medicine”. Well research has shown that laughter changes brain activity and produces gamma waves similar to long term meditators. Have you ever noticed that you can’t feel stressed and laugh at the same time. I have done this experiment for myself. I am working on producing content for my program called the Resilient H.E.A.R.T Roadmap, which I am launching next year (really excited about this). There are days when I find myself in different emotional states, ranging from flow to frustration. The frustration can often lead to a cascade of negative thoughts. When I notice this, I just start to chuckle at my thoughts. It’s pretty amazing how quickly my state changes, I feel lighter and it shortens the negative rumination gap that in the past may have lasted for hours. This is because the laughter produces feel good chemicals that relieve pain and angst. So why not release that inner child in you today. Have some fun, be silly and laugh out loud.
