Last week, I asked the Business & Bourbon® community the most challenging part of crafting a killer elevator pitch, and the results are in. Thank you Gina Riley and Zach Messler for chiming in on this one! Elevator pitches are one of the most impactful tools for sales, but they're harder to master than it may seem. That's why I dedicated a lesson to crafting an impactful elevator pitch in my new sales course, Tactical Execution for Guaranteed Success. Are you prepping for a big pitch this week? Maybe you're reminding yourself about that old standby of sales and marketing: the elevator pitch. Here's some food for Sunday thought from my blog library: there are better ways to spend your time in an elevator than trying to sell something. Happy reading and enjoy the weekend. #salesandmarketing #elevatorpitch https://lnkd.in/eCTpr9aN

"Are you focusing on the right areas to keep your sales pipeline strong?" "To maintain a quality pipeline for your sales process in your construction company, focus on these five key areas: 1. Build Relationships: Constantly focus on building strong relationships. Dedicate time, at least one day a week, to nurture these connections. 2. Clarity on Offerings: Have a clear understanding of what you sell and who buys what you sell. The more clarity you have, the more focused your efforts will be. 3. Find Your Audience: Go where your potential clients are. They're not going to come looking for you, so be proactive in seeking them out. 4. Elevator Pitch: Develop a concise and compelling elevator pitch to communicate what you do in a short amount of time. 5. Marketing Materials: Ensure your marketing materials, like capability statements, are precise and effective. These are the five things I focus on to keep my sales pipeline strong. By honing in on these areas, you’ll improve continuously and see better results every day. Simple acronym with powerful potential.
If you've been following me for a while, you know I like to talk about open-ended questions and how important they are in sales. Well I was recently talking with a friend who just sat in on an industry training session and they were telling me about a simple way to remember to always ask open-ended questions. It's called TED. Instead of asking "do you like your current supplier" or "are you happy with your roof" you want to ask TED questions T -Tell me E - Explain to me D - Describe to me Instead try questions like this, "tell me what you love about your current supplier", and when they answer say "Ok, now describe to me what you're getting stuck with in your business" When dealing homeowners, "tell me what you love about your current roof (or skylights)". Ok, now "describe to me what would make your roof, or skylights, even better in your life? TED allows for you to get more information out of your potential customer in a non-invasive way. It also will get them to be more open about what they are really thinking as opposed to yes/no answers. This is similar to a lot of what I have talked about in the past, but it's nice to have a nice little acronym to remember it by. Something to keep in mind when you go on that next sales call! #leadership #emotionalintelligence #sales #salesandmarketing #roofing #roofingcontractors #roofingindustry #roofingsales #velux #veluxusa #newhomeconstruction #builder #roof #roofer #roofingcontractor #roofingcompany #roofingproblems #salesmanager #marketing #salestraining #salesmanagement #solar #management #peoplemanagement #healthyliving #salesleader #salesleadership

HubSpot Gamification: Get Your Sales Pipeline Moving With Outbound. 🏆 7x Author 📚 Project Sales Trainer 👾 Cofounder @ Outbound.Game 📈 Personally Passionate about Mental Health In Business
If you sell projects or into winning high value accounts these 3 strategies will set you apart from your fiercest competitor: 1️⃣ BCOP: Diving deep into discovery by understanding their ‘Back Story’, ‘Challenges & Consequences’, ‘Outcomes and Opportunities’ and ‘Process’. Golden Rule: Never propose until you have a page of handwritten notes first. 2️⃣ TSA: Team sales approach. We call it the ‘Triple Double’ by having 3 specialists on your side working with 3 contacts on their side completing 3 touch points that aren’t phone and email. Golden Rule: Never sell solo. You are a risk alone. 3️⃣ Effort Is The Hack: All your deals start after the 7-12th touchpoint. Phone and email really don’t count. Think video, mail, F2F, social, presentations, tools and assets. Golden Rule: Never go into battle empty handed. Never take the easy street. So there you have it. 10 years of sales training with project sellers all around the world. Distilled into 10 seconds of content. It works when you apply point 3 to all points. #salestraining #projectselling #businessdevelopment
