This summer has been flying! Between family and work travel, I am catching up on everything that happened in the past month. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been able to support Charleston County School District's Kaleidoscope Learning Summit hosted by the Acceleration and Transformation Schools this past June. Even though it was at the end of the school year, you would never know because the building had such great energy. Amazing sessions on Strategic Planning, Coaching, DDI, and other topics were all led by amazing CCSD Educators, including Teachers, Coaches, APs, Principals, and District Specialists.  It's always a pleasure to be in the same space as Christopher Emdin, who delivered another amazing keynote. The former middle school math teacher in me appreciated the push around what it means to truly "transform" in our K-12 field, as in a math context, many of the transformations only actually result in a change in location, but none of the other attributes.  I also saw one of my all-time favorite facilitators, Andrea Fitzgerald, lead a session for First Year Teachers. There are so many gems in there that I wish I had when I started my career as an educator. A huge shout out to the Acceleration Schools Team, led by Jacqueline Haynes, and the Transformation Schools Team, led by Quenetta White, for designing and executing this amazing event. It was also great to have CAO Michelle Simmons and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Luke Clamp there to support as they look to spread the work throughout the district. As an added personal bonus, I even saw Audrey KS Lane E3 Management (Educate, Empower, and Elevate), which is always a win. While somehow the summer is already coming to an end, I am excited to build on our work to support the students and families of Charleston, SC.
