LEAD’s differentiating factors are our intentional focus on connecting with the communities we serve, as well as creating an environment where our students and families feel supported and accepted. Brands like us are typically visually represented with rounded lines (representing care), contained shapes (representing safety), and discrete hearts (representing love). You will see all of these elements included in the new LEAD Public Schools logo. You matter here.💚

”Every institution is going to be positioned differently. How they build their funnels may be different. How they may want to build it in the future may be different. The resources that they have at their leisure to do so may be different.” — DJ Menifee If someone asked you to define your institution’s “Why,” could you? When was the last time you really looked through your brand guide to ensure you were sticking to the mission? Are all your ducks really in a row? DJ Menifee, Vice President of Enrollment at Bradley University, joined us to talk about why schools need to assess their assets. DJ, an avid sneakerhead, knows the importance of grounding the “Why” to progress your institution's mission. In this episode, we bridge the connection between institutional mission and actions. Join Troy Singer and I as we discuss: ✅ The enrollment ecosystem (3:44) ✅ Enrollment funnel challenges (7:12) ✅ Assessing your assets (15:09) ✅ Being grounded in the “Why” (27:29) This week's episode is brought to you by Caylor Solutions and Ring Digital. #enrollmentecosystem #enrollmentfunnel #missionstatement #college #marketingmanagement #higheredmarketing

“Engaged students are ones that see their purpose and see that showing up actually matters, [that] getting a good education matters in what is happening in our society and that they can make a difference.” — Eric Henry It’s all too easy in higher ed marketing to get caught up in chasing the next shiny object. Sometimes, bouncing from tactic to tactic without taking a step break or even reverting back to last year's plan may seem like the only option. We’ve got two words for you — strategic communication. In this episode, we take a look at starting with the “why,” which starts with auditing all the tools in your toolbox. Kicking off our conversation is Eric Henry, the President of Carousel Digital Signage, who shares with us the importance of crafting a plan around generational preferences. Join Troy Singer and I as we discuss: ✅ [4:24] Intentional student engagement in higher ed marcom ✅ [14:57] Starting with strategy instead of winging it ✅ [24:33] Generational preferences among prospective students This week's episode is sponsored by Caylor Solutions and Ring Digital. #highered #strategiccommunication #generations #engagement

Dear School Administrators, Branding oversight is a preventative measure for violence because it standardizes a culture of accountability, responsiveness and normalizes well being over conformity. Our schools are more dangerous now not because of guns but because there is a lack of empathy, humanization and connectedness towards one another. If you tell yourself (or me) that “my school doesn’t have that issue” you’re missing the point of a mission - it’s not about your opinions or thoughts or what you think is needed. One problem at a school that isn’t yours IS your problem because it’s OUR problem as a nation, as a community. It’s about your mission becoming bigger than the performance of your school - it’s about looking after each other and setting the precedent for our communities to do the same so that we don’t have to read headlines like this. PS this was in Clark County School District, Nevada where I’ve been reaching out to administrators since January and the school board with no response. If you are an administrator in Clark County and you see this post, I believe we have a responsibility as Nevadans and humans to #improvepublicschool culture and help our communities unite in differences. Principal and Superintendent Missions are a powerful place to start. Tomorrow there is a webinar at 3 pm pst to learn more about branding oversight as a tool to unite the greater community and campuses with purpose. I hope to see you there.
