Our trauma-informed self-care tip of the week is to start one small, healthy new habit! Starting one healthy new habit today can have a big impact of your overall well-being over time. Whether it's drinking an extra glass of water each day, taking a 10-minute walk, or setting aside time for mindfulness - every little bit helps!

Our Specialized Therapeutic Services Team did a great job hosting a fun-filled Fourth of July event! All patients and staff were able to engage in multiple stations with activities that included a giant obstacle course, cupcake walk, inflatable ring toss, and a water balloon toss. To top it off and cool down, patients were able to enjoy some delicious paletas!

We would like to give a warm welcome to Andrew, our new Music Therapy Intern! Andrew joins our Specialized Therapeutic Services Department out of the University of the Incarnate Word. We are grateful for all the new ideas and knowledge he brings to our team, and we can't wait to see what new music interventions he will come up with for our patients!

Happy World Social Media Day! Social Media has redefined how people interact, communicate, and share updates with family, friends, and the world at large. We would like to give a huge shoutout to Gustavo for taking on the task of creating quality content for us over the past four years. The content he produces helps keep staff engaged, and it helps us build relationships and communicate information about our services. Thanks for all that you do, Gus! #SocialMediaDay

Our STS team recently hosted a PTSD Awareness 2k walk for staff and patients, and we were happy to partner with local business HTeaO for refreshments. Our campuses came together to support those affected by PTSD by raising awareness and promoting understanding. Everyone had an amazing time supporting the cause, staying hydrated, boosting their metabolism, and engaging in a positive, social, and sober environment. Whether you walk, run, or cheer from the sidelines, everyone can make a difference! #ptsdawareness

Clarissa, our Community Liaison, and Dora, our Manager of Military Dependent Services, were happy to participate in the CCIT Resource Fair at NISD Alternative Middle School. The event gave us an opportunity to share information about our programs with all the hardworking School Resource Officers in attendance. Clarissa also did a great job providing an educational PTSD training for all attendees.

To celebrate our incredible staff, our Service Excellence team treated everyone to delicious mini donuts! Staff were able to grab a sweet treat and enjoy a moment of relaxation as thanks for all their hard work and dedication. We are so thankful for everything y'all do to make our hospital great!
