The Power of a Positive Reputation for Hospitals In the healthcare industry, trust and confidence are paramount. Hospitals with a positive reputation enjoy numerous benefits, and one of the most impactful is the increase in patient trust and confidence. When patients trust a hospital, they are more likely to choose it for their healthcare needs. This trust leads to higher patient volumes, as more individuals feel confident in the quality of care provided. Additionally, a strong reputation fosters word-of-mouth referrals, as satisfied patients recommend the hospital to their family and friends. A hospital's reputation is built on consistent, high-quality care, professional staff, and positive patient outcomes. By prioritizing these elements, hospitals not only improve their reputation but also contribute to better health outcomes for the community. Let's continue to strive for excellence in healthcare and build trust within our communities. Healthcare is essential: everyone must have access to it. This is Health Equity Month, a time to focus on reducing the disparities that exist in healthcare access and outcomes. In honor of this month, we wanted to highlight our Community Paramedicine program. By extending care beyond traditional settings, community paramedics play a pivotal role in bridging healthcare gaps and fostering stronger, healthier communities. "Community paramedics can bridge the gap between medical need and accessibility, extending care where it is most needed. By reaching those in rural areas, the homebound, and the elderly, these programs not only provide vital medical services but also forge connections between underserved individuals and the support networks they require to survive." Today we are proud to host the #HealthBeyondtheHospital conference in London, bringing together those focused on keeping people well at home and in the community to explore how we can best deliver out of hospital care. We have also today published new analysis with CF which looks at how investment in community care can improve system productivity 🔗 https://bit.ly/48wZvVO It finds that the more the health service budget is invested in pump priming community services the more it reduces hospital admissions and the more savings it brings to the wider NHS - notably in acute care services. The figures show that for every £100 spent in the NHS community care sector, delivering care to patients closer to and in their own homes, there is a £131 (31 per cent) return on investment in acute sector savings Here's our director of policy Dr Layla McCay discusses why the event is important, what's coming up and our new report. It can be challenging to prove overall cost savings from investment outside acute care. Some good news from the UK. An NHS Confederation/CF study released this week found that regions spending more on community care had lower use of emergency and non-elective acute care. "The reduction in acute demand associated with this higher community spend could fund itself through savings on acute activity if a causal relationship were assumed, with an average 31 per cent return on investment and average net saving of £26 million for an average-sized integrated care system (ICS), exemplifying the power and potential of community care at a system level." Next step, I guess is to do the experiment to prove the causal relationship. I love what Dr Layla McCay has to say below. #integratedcare #NHS #healthcare
