“It's a point of pride. I love the fact that we can point to something and say ‘that's ours.' It gives you a little flavor of what it means to be a [member-owner] to see the end product.”

Confession time... 🙌 As much as I shouldn't admit this, I love a good burger from In-N-Out! (Animal style, all the way!) Truth be told, here's what I love the most - Even though they are wildly successful and the food is awesome, they keep things simple! 🎯 Every time I go (or drive by and that grill smell fills the car), it reminds me that there are 3 things we can learn from how they operate: ✅ Focus on Quality ✅ Be a Master of Your Craft ✅ Don't Overcomplicate Just like In-N-Out prioritizes fresh ingredients, you can prioritize exceptional service. And, while they have the burger market cornered, you can do the same in your local market by honing your skills in negotiation, marketing, and client communication. Lastly, keep it simple and focused with a client-centric approach - everything centers around what is going to put them in the best position possible. So, the next time you're thinking about stopping by In-N-Out for a quick bite, remember that they are teaching us a little more than what they serve up on their menu (or not so secret menu, for that matter). #RealEstateLessons #ClientFocus #ExpertiseMatters #AlexYuTeam #AlexYu #RealEstateCoach #Realtor #InNOutBurger #BusinessLessons #RealEstateWithPurpose #ChangingLivesForGood

British brewing/beverage consultant based in China as people buy equipment here. I'm your "man on the ground". 25 years experience helping folks improve their brewing processes from grain to glass...let's have a chat.
Been a few odd weeks getting requests to "consult for the consultants". It's feels a bit like being in the movie Inception...what's real anymore. Just yesterday had a brewer reach out. They had been approached to consult on a distillery project, and was unsure how to approach it. When I first started consulting in the brewing industry. I too was feeling my way into things. I was pretty open with clients then (and still am)... If I don't know something I tell people. If I can't help I likely know someone who is able to. For this person starting out. I shared some of the ways I break down the projects into steps. To have a process a client can understand and track. They are reviewing my process, then getting back to me. ➡ Last week two consultants got in touch. Both had very similar ideas, but on different continents. They were looking to discuss bringing me on as a third party to assist on the ideas they had. As being in China with my brewing process and equipment knowledge would speed things up. Plus, having "a person on the ground" is always valuable. I've helped a several consultants over the last year or so. Some of them being beverage consultants. Who some people might envisage are my competition... What I've found is sharing some knowledge or helping with some small tasks. More often or not means people come back to me in the future for possible projects for me to work on. I've not asked them to do this... It like I said if I don't know something, then I maybe know some who does. When I help people, often I become the person with the knowledge. They turn to if they can't do a project themselves. Pretty simple really... If you'd like to ever have a chat, then please drop me a message. It always good to share perspectives. #Brewing #Beer #CraftBeer #BrewingEquipment #Brewery #Brewhouse #NanoBrewery #Microbrewery #HowTo #CraftBrewing #PeopleInBrewing #BrewingConsultant #SmallScaleBrewing #HyperlocalBrewing #Projects #PilotBrewing #BeverageProject

We have a mission that might sound a little crazy on its surface. We want to brew a Half-Life killer. Years ago, we heard about more than one brewery making Hazy IPAs that they dubbed "Half-Life Killer." They release their 6% hazy and target our placements. And it still happens almost every spring. (I just heard about one a few weeks ago. Our accounts always tell us!) We don't see it as a threat, but it is 100% a challenge. Why? We want to kill it, too! We don't actually want to discontinue Half-Life or eliminate its sales, but we don't wish to become Half-Life Brewery. To prevent that, we must constantly develop our portfolio and discover what's next for craft beer. A regular topic of conversation in our product development meeting is, "Does this beer have the potential to overtake Half-Life?" Of course, there's more than taking the #1 spot. I mean, I want multiple placements in the top 10. I believe Half-Life has some serious staying power. However, we might have discovered our portfolio's next #1 beer. It could take two or three years to see it take off, but we're playing the long game. Grab a Cold War this week, and let me know if you agree.

The concept of defaults is widespread, from our go-to burger order at a fast-food joint to the features preselected for a new car purchase. Most things we purchase come with default options already chosen for us. Now, imagine having to customize everything from scratch. While creating a burger with your preferred toppings might be simple, doing the same for a car is quite complex. To further illustrate this point, consider the burger scenario. Research indicates that people are more likely to choose fewer options when they have to actively select toppings rather than when they have to deselect them.
