We're proud that our 2023 delivery, The Standard at Seattle, was awarded Best Use of Green & Sustainable Construction/Development at the 2024 Student Housing Business Innovator Awards. This two-tower, 26-story, 1,545-bed residential development achieved its LEED Gold certification through an integrative design approach. The design team was able to accomplish this by reducing energy loads through careful selection of building assemblies, systems, and equipment. From the outset, the project team prioritized sustainability and energy efficiency, making critical decisions large and small to deliver a high-rise tower that meets ambitious goals, promotes energy stewardship, and demonstrates consciousness of our changing climate.

Green Star Projects | Building a Sustainable Future Achieving a Green Star 5-star rating is a significant milestone for construction projects, and we are proud of the strides we're making with our clients towards this goal. At the heart of our efforts is our vision of doing no harm to the communities we build in. We recently sat down with Tayla Fairthorne, our ESG Manager, to discuss some of the challenges in achieving a Green Star rating and how we're working to overcome them. One key strategy has been the implementation of a central tracking system for Green Star requirements, helping our teams monitor the credits they are working towards. Tayla has also initiated Green Star Working Groups, bringing together team members to foster open discussions and share lessons learned across different projects. This collaborative approach ensures that we continue to innovate and improve our practices. Watch the video to learn more about the key credits we are working towards and how we are collaborating with our clients to improve sustainability outcomes our projects. #architecture #Engineering #constructionlife #TheKapitolWay #building #ConstructionIndustry #constructionsite #KapitolGroup #civilengineering #projectmanagement #constructionwork #Melbourne #Construction #constructioncompany #ConstructionManagement #constructionequipment
