We are proud to work with Estes Construction and all subcontractors, who have ensured a safe environment for construction to continue without incidents. The safety of all on site is our utmost priority. . 🛡️ 19,900 hours completed by dedicated workers who have battled heat and challenging conditions within historic buildings, meticulously saving and inventorying each historically significant piece and rehabilitating historic windows. It’s solid, hard work, but the rewards are immense as we witness the transformation into 51 new apartments. . 💬 The saying, "they don't build 'em like they used to" rings true in the hallways of Shimer Square. Solid craftsmanship went into building these structures, and we’re proud that solid craftsmanship is shaping its future. . Approximately 2,000 apartment units are under construction in and around Golden Triangle right now, led by both local and out-of-state developers. The construction boom follows Denver City Council’s rezoning of the neighborhood in 2021 to allow for higher density in the area bound by Colfax Avenue to the north, Speer Boulevard to the west and Broadway and Lincoln Street to the east. What are your thoughts on the ongoing battle to demolish the industrial buildings of Shudehill? Developers recently lost their appeal to do exactly this. They wanted to tear down buildings that have been in Manchester since the 18th and 19th centuries. These buildings represent Manchester’s industrial growth, and whether you agree with the rejection or not, I always think it’s great to see people fighting to save architecture. Having read some of the details about this particular development, I personally agree with the rejection. Long-term, however, I’m on the fence about them. In my opinion, I think it would be great to give new life to these buildings which are lying dormant. Or, if a developer were to submit a project that was iconic, desirable and brought value whilst being considerate of the area, I would most likely support a bid. What are your thoughts on the appeal? How would you like to see the site used?
