Study Tour for Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) Under the Central Government’s Central Sector Scheme, implementing agency NABARD - National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development and CBBO Yuva Mitra organized exposure visits for FPCs such as: - Green Spirit Farmer Producer Company, Chandwad - Girna Agro Vision Farmer Producer Company, Kalwan - Green Wings Farmer Producer Company, Yeola - Kasturi Agro Vision Farmer Producer Company, Nandgaon The visits included locations such as the Onion and Garlic Research Center, Rajguru Nagar; Agro Rangers, Shirur, Pune, Bajra Adda, Uruli Kanchan; Baramati KVK; and Green Up Farmer Producer Company, Rahuri. The purpose of the study tour was to equip farmer members with knowledge of advanced farming techniques, market engagement strategies, cost-effective business growth, and more. Farmer members from these various agricultural production companies participated enthusiastically and learned new skills. Kailas Pagar, Secretary of Green Spirit FPC, Chandwad, says, “During the study tour, we visited various locations and learned how companies operate and how we can implement their best practices in our company. Additionally, our farmer members purchased high-yield seeds from the Onion Research Center, which we plan to use for this year’s planting. Notably, we also gained insights into better organic farming practices. This exposure visit has helped us attract new buyers for our produce.” For the past 28 years, Yuva Mitra has been strengthening FPCs across India by conducting extensive training sessions and workshops. Meet Sadanand Chaudhari, a progressive banana farmer from the famous Changdev village in Muktainagar tehsil of Jalgaon. He is the Director of Sant Changdev Tapi Purna FPC which works extensively with the banana farmers in the region.
