Bioplastics are still quite a new market and represent only one percent of the total plastics produced worldwide. Nevertheless, compared to conventional plastics, bioplastics reveal a great progress in regard to properties and quality. Thus, bioplastics are more and more applied in various markets like packaging, catering products, automotive. For customers and waste management it is of great importance to be able to rely on the product‘s properties regarding biodegradability in different environmental and renewable resources. This is why independent certification by DIN CERTCO according to European or international standards plays an important role in this field. DIN CERTCO is the certification body of TÜV Rheinland Group and is the certification body for the issuance of the DIN-Marks and further certification marks. It is highly regarded at home and abroad for its independence, neutrality, competence and more than 40 years experience in the field. Since 2022, the compostable biopolymers IGREEN F300 and IM700 have been certified as Industrial compostable by DIN CERTCO. 🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰

Sidsel Dyekjær, Chemicals Policy Advisor at ChemSec, continued the policy talk with a presentation on the 🌍 EU’s Universal PFAS Restriction Proposal (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) restriction proposal, which is currently being evaluated by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). ChemSec forecasts that a vote on the PFAS restriction proposal by EU Member States could take place as early as 2027 and that the proposal could go into effect in 2029. “If you ask me why don’t the regulators come out and say when they will finish, it’s because they don’t know when they’ll finish," said Dyekjær. “You can expect less than five years – if you’re hopeful like me. The main message is: There is a lot of pressure and discussion but the work is moving. There has been nothing happening in the ECHA committees to stop the work.” #GoNatRefs #NaturalRefrigerants #ATMO_MAC Summit x TU Berlin #PFAS #PFASfree

What is the second reason why companies choose to partner with Enhesa Sustainable Chemistry? Many need information for their customers, to enable them to fulfill reporting requirements. We find that Tier 1 manufacturing companies are being asked for information about per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) or other harmful substances by brands. They have to be able to comply with global and regional regulations like RoHS, REACH, and Cal Prop. Our system aggregates and summarizes the leading authoritative sources, including ECHA, US EPA, scientific journal articles, experimental data, and more using our stringent Global Harmonized System framework. Our customers know that they can rely on this to report back to brands. Enhesa Sustainable Chemistry #sustainablechemistry #chemicalhazards #sustainability

📺 The growing litigation around #PFAS chemicals in the US has forced the EPA to tighten regulations, with activated carbon considered the “best available technology”. Recent analysis from Bank of America has estimated remediation costs for ~55,000 PFAS sites in the US amount to an addressable market of $US 220 billion. ASX small cap Carbonxt, Inc. (ASX:CG1) specialises in activated carbon for water treatment, and with construction underway at its plant in Kentucky, Carbonxt’s entry into the water utilities market is already affirmed. And the rise of the PFAS opportunity has served to increase the Company’s already sizeable potential addressable market. https://lnkd.in/gUwkTy8c #CG1 #ASX #ASXnews #marketnews #activatedcarbon #carbontech Warren Murphy Investor Stream Alex Paull
