Lamar Johnson Collaborative’s Post

Our project at 208 South LaSalle involves converting floors 13-16 of the historic Continental and Commercial National Bank building into 226 residential units. LJC is serving as the Architect of Record, collaborating with Lucien Lagrange as Lead Architect and Designer. As part of Chicago’s LaSalle Street Reimagined program, this adaptive reuse project aims to revitalize the financial district by transforming underutilized office space into vibrant new apartments, with 30% designated as affordable housing. The conversion, taking place on floors between the existing JW Marriott and The LaSalle Autograph Hotel will require careful coordination with current tenants. This project not only preserves the historic character of the building but also reimagines LaSalle Street as a residential neighborhood. By integrating new apartments with the services of adjacent hotels, residents will enjoy unparalleled amenities, offering a unique living experience in the heart of Chicago’s Central Business District.
