“When I was growing up I experienced a few ambulance rides and witnessed the selfless acts of kindness those volunteer EMTs and paramedics provided to me. Being a paramedic is a great way to pay back services I received in my time of need. I like seeing the impact we make on people in our community and the variety of situations we get involved in and unique problem-solving techniques makes it continually interesting and challenging. Lakes Regional Healthcare’s team is well experienced and committed to providing compassionate care for the lakes region. It’s a pleasure to work with a variety of other outstanding and dedicated public service members in Dickinson County. I appreciate how our team is always reevaluating and improving the system to improve our service. We also have the benefit of using our skills both within the prehospital and hospital settings which helps our skill proficiency and ease of transition of care.” - Dustin H., Paramedic, 26 years at LRH Go to https://lnkd.in/gGD3gzV9 to see our opportunities or call 712-336-8790 to discuss your career path! #healthcare #healthcarejobs #nurse #nursejobs #nursing #nursingjob #paramedic #imaging #radtech #radtechjob #healthcareer #spiritlake #iowa #okoboji

I have an active-ish social media presence, but it is totally removed from my role as a nurse. I indicate that I'm an RN on my bio, but my Instagram, Blog, Twitter (now X), and Youtube are solely for my hobbies outside of my profession. Even my personal Facebook profile does not list my current workplace nor do I have current workmates as friends. I personally feel that it blurs the lines of professional and personal which I don't really like. I also don't mention my workplace/company by name when discussing them on my social media (if I do, which is rare). Only my LinkedIn profile has my work info and it does not have my other social media information. I think the urge to share and post things immediately is something that we should try to avoid. I'm an older millenial, by the way, and love social media, but I still like to keep these things separate. You are more than welcome to google my name and check out my social media profiles. ☺️
I love #socialmedia and creating community for #nurses and other HCWs through it. 🩺💛 I am #grateful to be able to support #nursing professionals in leveraging SM to grow their networks and careers. Violence against nurses is easier to dismiss when it's just a stat 📊. Here's a clip of a real story told by Jana BSN, which ultimately led to her leaving the bedside. The fear of violence in healthcare is real. Healthcare facilities and government bodies need to take immediate action to protect our caregivers. It's more than just a stat for those on the front lines. #nursesoflinkedin #nursingshortage #travelnursing #nurselife #hospitalmanagement #healthcare #nurse #nursepay #healthcareleadership #healthcareleaders #cno #hospital #nurserecruitment #nurseretention #healthcareinnovation #healthcarecareers #healthcareindustry

💡 DYK … 65% of #nurses (CNA, LPN, RN) are considering leaving the profession? According to a survey conducted by Wakefield Research & ShiftMed in 2022. With new nursing homes going up every day and the “grey tsunami “ coming we may be in trouble. What can we do? - Retain the ones we have, use reward system (I like CareCrown ) - Show the fun culture on your social media pages (think Dancing nurses) - Offer flexible shifts to attract part time There are a lot of things we can do, but we must start working and partnering now to set up for success later. I doctor your healthcare products and services to success | GMC Registered Medical Doctor (GP) | Founder and Medical Device Inventor | Interim CMO | Healthcare Careers Mentor
Healthcare professionals are generally experts at saying hard things well. There are few things harder, for example, than: ▪️telling someone that they or a loved one has a terminal illness ▪️discussing a Do Not Attempt Resuscitation Order ▪️trying to wean someone off painkillers when they are addicted but don’t know it We have the hardest conversations every single day. We deal with more conflict than people might imagine. I have posted in the past about transferable skills acquired in medicine but recently gave this one much thought. It is, for sure, a skill that can be of great use in many a job role but also for the wider community. Where do you see it being put to use best? #healthcare #clinicians #health #doctors #nurses #nhs
