"It’s not only distracting [to take notes] during the call, it takes an additional 100 percent of your time following the call to write all the notes for everything that took place", said Yoni Shtein When you combine the time care managers spend on prep and follow-up administrative tasks with the 2x growth in caseloads over the past five years, it creates a recipe for declining results and a burnt-out workforce. I love this use case, not only to demonstrate the human value of personalized asynchronous care but also to exemplify the giant healthcare 'void' that exists for which there is currently no care model, certainly not one that can easily be packaged into fee-for-service care. I call it...the 'space' between Google searches and going to the doctor's office. Some people just need a little human help. Some people would like some clarification. Some people want to have something explained to them again. Some people have difficulty getting in with their primary care. Some people have difficult getting in with specialists. Some people have challenges finding time off of work. Some people just have simple questions. Almost all people fit into one of the categories above. Be human. Let patients text. BFineMD

Value-Based Care Innovator & Strategic Advisor | Tech Enabled, Integrated Care Delivery | Complex Population Health | Healthcare Rainmaker - bringing together those who create magic! | She Who Cares
Being a surgical patient recently has been a humbling experience. Let me preface this post with this: I received excellent patient care in my 9 day stay from a dedicated staff. I could not have asked for better. However, the road to the operating room was paved with fragmented information gathering and poor shared access among those involved in my care, just like most other patients. The lack of interoperability was nothing short of maddening. Further, this gap is a major issue that patients, providers, systems, and the Federal Government are all crying out for effective solutioning. So what am I focusing on my first week back to work? It's time we build a cornerstone for VALUE BASED CARE by digging into interoperability and making it happen. Imagine the improvement in satisfaction, efficiency, and proficiency when we remove barriers to effective interoperability! My recent experience has reminded me of the criticality of this. I will be sharing more about my thoughts on strategy as we traverse the road to Value-Based Care based on this experience. Let's work together to make optimal, systemic interoperability a reality!
