Big news from Laguna Health on the partnership with Highmark Inc.
While there are many conversational AI companies, none to date have focused specifically on care management teams inside payers which have outsized ability to demonstrate clinical and financial value.
In addition - according to the VP of clinical engagement and digital innovation at Highmark Health -
“Laguna helps reduce burnout for care managers, who are often bogged down with prepping and transcribing calls. It also improves the member experience and makes it easier for the insurer to prove patient outcomes.

Day 2 #1MinuteUpdate from the 2023 Forbes Healthcare Summit:
The day was jam packed with experts & innovators who are tackling the industries complexities from many angles.
While AI & technology was a strong undertone to many conversations, most speakers stressed the importance of tbe HUMAN element in healthcare delivery, drawing distinctions on how AI should support and enable, not totally replace healthcare delivery systems.
Another related key takeaway for leaders is to first define the problem clearly. Just because we have something (data, AI, technology) doesn’t necessarily mean we should deploy it, if it’s not solving key issues. As we think about these technologies & solutions we are also responsible for ensuring they solve problems effectively for the most fragile and at risk.
