There are a lot of 2024 AI prediction articles out there. I found this one far more balanced and data-driven than most. Highlights include: * There is a common belief among C-level executives that generative AI will be transformational, but companies have a long way to go with data strategy, data cleanliness and internal change management to achieve that transformation. * Data, analytics, AI and technology roles are starting to merge at both an executive and individual contributor level with the lines between these categories becoming even more blurred. Thank you John Sviokla for sharing.
Check out this insightful piece from MIT Sloan on the five key trends in AI and data science for 2024. Randy & Tom's data-driven work is always worth a read, and this article is no exception! The article articulates important role and tone changes as CDO, CAIOs, and policies evolve from the wild west of innovation to more institutional processes. It's a must-read for anyone looking to stay ahead of the curve in the AI and data science space. #AI #datascience #MITsloan #trends Randy Bean Tom Davenport

What people working on data science and AI strategies and projects are thinking about and doing? What are the top five developing issues that deserve your attention? Read on for the answers ... The most important one in my opinion is the expected acceleration in the deployment of AI models in production - the industrialization of AI. This bodes well for companies focused on MLOps, and the reuse of existing data sets, features (or attributes), vectors, and models of all flavors. #generatieveai #mlops #modeldeployment #datascience #aieconomics #citizendatascience #automl

Design for enterprise AI and analytical data products. Speaker, host of 🎧 Experiencing Data podcast, founder of Data Product Leadership Community, & pro 🥁-er.
Regarding #3 around a#dataproducts, I’m fairly confident the 48% here who view #analytics and #AI as being part of tge definition of “data products” will outperform the rest. Why? Because users and stakeholders only care about outcomes, a result that will have the best chance of being delivered if a small empowered team is responsible for end to end deployment. Period. Another word/label for another internally-facing process or method of management doesn’t help Mark in Marketing or Sally in Sales. TLDR: Users like Mark and Sally (if I may be so bold to speak for “them”!) honestly just don’t give a f$&! about any of how the sausage is made and named. WIIFM? Said “them.” And rightfully so. What do you think? PS: Tom Davenport Randy Bean why “slightly?”
AI and data science became front-page news in 2023. The rise of #genAI, of course, drove this dramatic surge in visibility. So, what might happen in the field in 2024 that will keep it on the front page? And how will these trends really affect businesses?
