I remember packing up our lives in Londonderry, New Hampshire, so my dad could start a new job in Seattle, Washington. 📦🌟 It was daunting. 😳 As a 14 year old kid, moving across the country felt like stepping into a different world. 🌎 I was leaving behind friends, familiar places, and a slice of life I cherished. 💔 A fun fact: a classmate from Londonderry moved when I did and ended up at the same middle school in Seattle. It was a small world moment in a big life change. 🌍❤️ Then came Seattle – a city vibrant with culture and new opportunities. 🌆 It was here that my love for baseball truly blossomed. ⚾️ I set a goal: Play for Stanford and then go pro. I even had a vision board before I knew what one was! 🎯 This move taught me resilience and the power of embracing change. It shaped my ability to adapt – a skill that proved invaluable throughout my career. 💪 Whether it's shifting to a new city or pivoting in my professional life, like transitioning into real estate investment, these moves have always been about growth and new beginnings. 🌱 If you're facing a big change, remember that it's more than a challenge; it's an opportunity to write a new chapter in your story. 📚🚀 It might be tough at first, but trust me, the journey is worth it. ✨ Have you ever taken a leap that led to unexpected growth? 🌟🌱

Here’s some solid life advice from none other than Jerry Seinfeld.

I’m thrilled to introduce the topic of Positive Black Swans, also known as Black Swan Opportunities. Given that Black Swans are rare, unexpected, and unpredictable, we benefit by having a so-called healthy fear of the negative ones to help break us out of our usual daydream bubble of a mostly calm and predictable daily life. We commonly refer to positive unexpected events and situations as opportunities. In fact, Taleb talks quite a bit about such opportunities, what he calls Positive Black Swans.  He writes, "Seize any opportunity or anything that looks like opportunity. They are rare, much rarer than you think." Nassim Taleb is not the only smart and wealthy guy who believes and advocates this strategy. Warren Buffett developed 7 rules of investing. Rule Number 7 is: “Big opportunities have to be seized. You have to grab them when they come because you’re not going to get 500 great opportunities.”

What if we lived life like we were all in a cross country meet? What if we watched other people and recognized that we're all just trying to get across the finish line? What if we understood that some people are running as hard as they can but battling illnesses, invisible injuries, and internal struggles? Every step is hard, but they're trying not to quit. What if we cheered for everyone even if they weren't on our team? What if we realized just finishing something, no matter how long it took us or how messy it seemed, was enough? In fact, it was a win. What if we used every race as an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and how we could use each other for support, inspiration, and help to reach our goals? What if we cheered loud for the winner, but even louder for the one who comes in after because they accomplished something great, too? In a world that tells us it's about me, me, me, what if we started living to support everyone brave enough to be in the race?
