We’re very proud of Georgie Elliott, (one of our Land Managers), who was selected last year for the 2024 Wates Future Leaders Board, (FLB). The FLB has a rigorous, high-bar selection process, and those who are successful in securing a place benefit from some great professional and personal development opportunities.   Last month Georgie and other members of the 2024 cohort visited the Prism offsite manufacturing office in Coventry. This brilliant offering is helping Wates Group realise the benefits of prefabrication, modularisation and offsite construction across a wide range of industry sectors. Parmarbrook's Breakfast at The Wolseley, October 2023: a roundup   We recently had the pleasure of hosting another successful edition of Parmarbrook's exclusive Breakfast at The Wolseley. Our aim is to gather distinguished industry professionals to delve into the latest industry challenges, innovations, and achievements, all while enjoying a sumptuous spread at the iconic London restaurant.   Representing Parmarbrook at the event was Chetan Parmar, Steven Davidson, Ben Paterson and Rob Delahunty.   This time, our conversations zeroed in on #sustainability. As trailblazers in engineering and our respective fields within #construction, we underscored our duty to prioritise sustainability in our designs and processes. In a world navigating challenging times, it’s easy to dwell on the negatives. However, discussing the positives and contemplating that one thing we’d change within the industry was energising and thought-provoking.   We unanimously recognised the importance of #collaboration and coordination right from a project's inception – putting focus on finding solutions that meet #sustainabilitytargets and reduce #embodiedcarbon emissions.   We discussed that when it comes to refurbishing existing structures, it’s important we do this both sensitively and with an eco-conscious mindset.   We agreed that for new construction projects, the key question we must ask ourselves from the start is: How can we future-proof the asset?   The energy and enthusiasm in the room were palpable, reaffirming our collective commitment to placing sustainability at the forefront in our unique corners of construction.
