Cullen, a century-old Scottish packaging firm, is dedicated to producing exclusively fully recycled products, catering to a wide range of industries including medical, industrial, and horticulture. One product that stands out is ‘The Fibre Bottle’. David MacDonald, the owner and CEO of Cullen Eco-Friendly Packaging, who was also the recipient of the Glasgow Business Award for Entrepreneur of the Year 2023, has a clear mission: “When you consider 500 billion bottles being used annually, my mission is to simply replace single-use plastic by creating the world’s first paper bottle.” Sustainable paper-based solutions are out there. Finland-based Ahlstrom has won the American Forest & Paper Association's Innovation in Sustainability Award for their cellulose fiber-based pet food packaging named PawPrint. PawPrint is 100% recyclable and compostable, as it is made from “wood-based natural cellulose fibers.” Additionally, the packaging utilizes a proprietary technology that provides grease-resistant properties, making it 100% PFAS free.
