Declaring Independence On July 4, 1776, a group of Americans approved a document declaring the United States of America free from English rule. This document was the Declaration of Independence, and today we celebrate the 248th birthday of this courageous action! Thomas Jefferson, the primary author of the Declaration of Independence, outlined its purpose: When forced, therefore, to resort to arms for redress, an appeal to the tribunal of the world was deemed proper for our justification. This was the object of the Declaration of Independence....Neither aiming at originality of principle or sentiment, nor yet copied from any particular and previous writing, it was intended to be an expression of the American mind. John Adams wrote his wife relating his hopes for the cause they were undertaking: I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost us to maintain this Declaration and support and defend these states. Yet through all the gloom, I can see the rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that the end is more than worth all the means and that posterity will triumph in that day's transaction. Across the generations, many others have heralded the importance of the Declaration. For example, Civil War hero Ulysses S. Grant saw it as one of the many evidences of God's guidance: In all these marked stages of national progress, from the Declaration of Independence to the recent amendments of the Constitution, it is impossible not to perceive a providential series and succession of events. In honor of the lasting truths set forth in the Declaration of Independence, let’s celebrate this Independence Day in a way that was recommended by John Adams: It ought to be commemorated, as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.

Happy Independence Day Well deserved day to not only celebrate the hard earned independence but also to acknowledge that it needs to be preserved, taken care and safely handed over to coming generations with core of its values. Rather than claiming and clamouring for “My Rights “ first, freedom can sustain if responsibilities are also learned along with rights. God has gifted the unique art of speaking to humans. Freedom means to use it wisely, timely and optimally but to bring smiles. While celebrating Independence Day Let’s learn to speak on what matters when matters not make up the matter to align what you speak when you like to speak memories may be short but impressions last longer. Tomorrow we will celebrate our 77th Independence day 🙏 A friend of mine asked me to pen my thoughts 🤔💭 about our independence day. Here is the English version: Independence day, we all celebrate it to the fullest.💓 We hoist the flag. We sing the national anthem. 🇮🇳 Point is, are we really free. 🤔 Does freedom mean only freedom from the oppressors?✅ Now here I want to ask some questions. Are we really free in our mind?😌 Do we judge people based on religion, caste, creed, color, body features?🤞 Do we judge people in terms of money they have?🤞 Do we judge people in terms of position they are in?🤞 If the answer is yes, are we really free.🙏 The great Rabindranath Tagore wrote, where the mind is without fear and head is held high.😌 Is our head really high?😶 Are we thinking with our own logic?🙄 Are we believing what the media is telling us?😒 This is the question that we need to ask. This week we mark another Independence Day where many will gather with friends and family to celebrate the holiday. What is the significance of this day? The Fourth of July is Independence Day for the United States. Before becoming a country, the U.S. was a group of colonies owned by Great Britain. On July 4th, 1776 the founding fathers approved the Declaration of Independence and announced their independence from Great Britain. Thus, beginning our country’s journey as an independent nation. During this busy time, please take a moment to reflect on all that we have as a country and the freedoms that we are afforded. Beware of the influences that seek to blind us, pushing narratives that edge us closer to socialism and communism, eroding the very foundations of our democracy.   Our Constitution, a beacon of hope and freedom, enshrines the rights of individuals to protect themselves and bear arms. It is our duty to honor these words and ensure that our freedoms are preserved for future generations.   We must also recognize the growing control of the elite and the media in pushing their agendas, often at the expense of our civil liberties. It is essential that we speak out against these forces, protecting our right to free speech and ensuring that diverse voices are heard.   This 4th of July, let us celebrate with a renewed commitment to defend and protect our liberties. Let us stand united against the forces that seek to undermine our democracy. Together, we can ensure that the sacrifices of our heroes are never in vain.   **Stay vigilant. Stay free.
