I enjoy each of my roles because it requires being present. Being present as a reporter fosters storytelling. It means one is fluid and open to where the story takes you. It means having situational awareness. One variable change can alter the way one tells a story. Other times, having conversations with the interviewee takes the story in a completely different direction. Being present as a producer is a portion of the way a show comes alive. I may have a show stacked a certain way but if my guest/co-anchor and I are having a moment I want it to breathe. Being present as an anchor is essential. Once that on-air sign is lit it is go-time. And all one should do is interact & address in real-time segments, conversations & anything the control room displays in videos or graphics. Being present is part of the magic. Some of that magic is in this #BoldenBlitz: Jan. 29 - Feb. 2 #MiniDemoReel #Reporter #Anchor #Producer #Host #Broadcaster

Oh my...this is good. It starts with low pay, of course, but the #tvnews motivation problem is so much more complex - which is why most of my students who choose it for a career are out in 5 years, or less... They want to get paid, of course, AND they want to do good work.... "Control rooms and studios became bare of people. Automation forced producers to emphasize locked-in rundowns, reducing freewheeling dynamics. The great photographer/journalists lost their jobs, taking away the team creativity that was always the mark of significant journalism. Reporters had to also become photographers, forcing stories into more simplistic formats. Video essays went away because there was no one to produce them. I could go on, but you know the list. Not only did staffs shrink, but stations also started to expand their number of newscasts. With the syndication market no longer producing mega hits, owners realized that under the new goal of reducing expenses it was far cheaper to add an additional hour of local news than to buy a new syndicated show. Once that kind of thinking took hold, it became logical to expand news into other areas. After all, local news is usually the lowest cost option." - Hank Price, TVNewsCheck

How to attract viewers to your TV documentaries? Not just any documentaries, but historical ones from a German TV channel that they've uploaded to their YouTube channel. Representatives from this German TV channel approached us for help in creating social media content to promote their historical documentaries. The catch? We hadn't worked in this niche before, and it was all in German! But we love a challenge, and with the right strategy, anything is possible. So, how do we get people to watch German documentaries on YouTube? First things first, we came up with an eye-catching visual concept that's unique and stands out from the rest. Next, we planned out 30 posts and short videos because we know these things take time to gain traction, and we needed to keep the content on-brand. Then, to make things easier for our clients, we wrote scripts for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. We don't just throw suggestions at the clients – we provide tailored solutions that meet their specific demands. The best part? The clients didn't have to add brainstorming to their long list of tasks. They just took the scripts, quickly filmed the content, and sent it over for post-production. We cannot disclose the numbers due to confidentiality agreements. But here's what our client had to say: "Working with the Authenticity Agency team was very easy. We quickly built a comfortable relationship, and it was a smooth and successful collaboration. They took our work seriously and paid great attention to detail while keeping things fresh and creative. They always came through with great solutions. Our team was very impressed with the results, especially with how visually appealing the materials turned out. It was a pleasure working with Authenticity Agency both in terms of interaction and the final results.

Effective communication is key when it comes to television editing. You're not just interacting with your team, but also with post-production supervisors, fellow editors, visual effects and sound teams, executives, showrunners, and directors. TV directors play a unique role, shepherding the show's vision from showrunners to executives. To excel, TV editors, like all editors, must be strong communicators. Remember, effective communication drives a successful editing journey.
