As the region begins to think of growth and the future of our major thoroughfares, it is important to envision the possibilities. With the initial feedback from Fayetteville's public input indicating a desire for more 'missing middle' housing types, as well as retail, service amenities and recreational facilities along 71b, the proposed zoning changes aim to address these needs. Collaborating with Groundwork, GEMSTONE Design Studio has reimagined what this zoning change could look like. This would allow for more mixed-use buildings, keeping density in developed areas while preserving natural and working lands. . The remaining public input sessions are 6/5 and 6/6 from 3pm - 6pm and 6/7 from 9am - 12pm. All three remaining dates will be held at the City Hall, first floor foyer. Homes are getting denser... but yards are getting larger? Confused? You aren't alone. In our Annual Survey of Architecture, architects predicted ground-level outdoor spaces would grow, while upper-level decks will shrink in the coming years. It boils down to two main factors: ➡️ Decks are more expensive ➡️ Consumers value yards and ground-level outdoor rooms more Looking for more ways to satisfy consumers without breaking the bank? Here are more surprising cost-cutters that made us double-check our data: https://lnkd.in/gDCAxvVW #JBREC #NHTI #RealEstate #HousingMarket #HomeDesign

They highlight the importance of pedestrian-friendly streets, cohesive building relationships, and reconnecting with core urban values lost during suburban development over the past six decades. New Urbanism aims to revive these design-oriented principles to create vibrant communities that resonate with a sense of place and identity in today's urban landscapes. We want to bring back today a visionary approach to urban living, that defied convention. The result? The award-winning entry, "The Endless City in Height," which clinched the top spot in the SkyScrapers & SuperSkyscraper Competition in 2014. At its core, this groundbreaking concept stems from the recognition that cities are evolving vertically, not just horizontally. This bold departure from tradition sparked a paradigm shift in urban design, challenging us to create a living space that seamlessly integrates with the natural flow of urban life. What sets "The Endless City in Height" apart is its meticulously crafted spatial design. The interplay between public and entertainment spaces forms a dynamic, interconnected tapestry that fosters vibrant discussions, meaningful interactions, and a sense of community. This carefully curated environment not only encourages dialogue but also lays the foundation for the creation of a true vertical city. #UrbanInnovation #VerticalCity #FutureOfUrbanLiving #SkyscraperDesign #InnovationInArchitecture #EndlessCityInHeight
