Want to know an amazing egg fact? 🥚✨
White eggs are better for the environment than brown eggs 🥚🌱 That’s because chickens that lay white eggs need less feed to produce eggs. Less feed means fewer greenhouse gas emissions 🌿📉 That is why we, at Kipster, keep chickens that lay white eggs 🐔🤍

Want to know an amazing egg fact? Chickens are supposed to only lay about 12 eggs per year. But that doesn’t make for a good business model right? So you use genetically modified chickens that lay around 300 right?
Exploitation is exploitation. So for the chickens you exploit, this ‘amazing egg fact’ is useless.
Earth Day is more than just a day – it’s a movement to care for our planet and build a better future for generations to come. The Supplant Company is on a mission to fix our food system by supplanting some of the world’s most damaging ingredients.
By using the ‘forgotten half of the harvest’ – side-streams like corn cobs, oat hulls, and wheat stalks – we make upcycled ingredients from what is already grown on farms. Discover the potential game-changing impact of our approach here > https://lnkd.in/gPSzryFw#EarthDay#Sustainability#Climate#Upcyling

How many of us let our hungry bellies do the ordering when we eat out, only to find that we are not able to finish our food and have to discard the leftovers? National Environment Agency’s #SayYEStoWasteLess campaign this year reminds us that there’s a cost to our waste - whether it’s a cost to our wallets or to the environment!
Binning a $7 side dish that we can’t finish is like throwing away $1100 a year. Likewise, discarding unfinished food makes the resources that went into making the dish - water for farming, electricity for processing, fuel for transporting - all go to waste.
I urge everyone to #SayYEStoWasteLess and make an effort to #ReduceWaste. For a start, order and buy only what you can finish so that food goes into bellies and not bins. Go easy on your wallet, go easy on our planet.

Totally agree with Grace Fu, Singapore's Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, on the critical issue of waste.
Waste is rampant around us, from unconsumed food to single-use plastics. It's easy to overlook, but the impact on our planet—and our wallets—is undeniable.
Here's the thing: reducing waste doesn't mean sacrificing our lifestyles. It's about mindful consumption. Think about what you're buying, how you use it, and what happens afterward. Simple changes like carrying a reusable water bottle or planning your meals can make a world of difference.
The financial impact resonates with many. Framing sustainability in a way that connects to personal finances can be a powerful motivator. Every little bit saved on unnecessary consumption adds up, benefiting both your wallet and the environment.

🌍🌾 This #WorldFoodDay, let's take a moment to reflect on how climate change is reshaping the future of food. Rising temperatures, droughts, and floods are threatening the crops that sustain us, putting millions at risk of hunger.
On the other hand, we can't overlook the destruction of forest for agriculture and the competition between food crops and biofuel plantations - the ugly sides often go unseen.
By embracing sustainable farming, reducing food waste, and supporting local producers, we can protect our planet and ensure nutritious food for all.
Our fight for food security is a fight for climate justice

Today, Wednesday 16 October, is World Food Day.
It's crucial that we prioritize reducing our consumption, implementing sustained yield management practices in agriculture, plantations, and forests, and supporting brands that back initiatives to ensure food availability and affordability. The impact of climate change on primary production is exacerbating hunger on a global scale. #WorldFoodDay#ClimateChange#Sustainability
The food system accounts for a third of global greenhouse gas emissions, yet it’s often overlooked in climate discussions. However, we know that reducing #FoodWaste can significantly benefit our environment.
From farmers cultivating resilient crops to chefs crafting climate-conscious meals, from seaweed farms reviving shellfish populations to zero-waste grocery stores eliminating plastic—leaders across the food chain are stepping up. These climate solutions aren’t just concepts—they’re making a real impact. https://loom.ly/wTXTI18#ClimateAction#FoodSystems#ZeroWaste
Do you think about the consequences of your #cheeseburger? We aren't just talking about your waste-line here...
According to the World Wildlife Fund, "Beef production has a considerable effect on climate change due to emissions of greenhouse gases such as methane, nitrous oxide and carbon dioxide. Research shows that ruminant livestock account for between 7% and 18% of global methane emissions from human-related activities."
If you must eat #beef, the experts say, at least eat beef that is pasture raised (or grass fed) and comes from American farms and not from factory farms located halfway around the world. The environmental cost of transporting meat produced overseas to your local supermarket is staggering.

Our food choices go beyond personal health—they have a substantial impact on the climate. The current methods of food production rely heavily on fossil fuels, resulting in greenhouse gas emissions that alter our climate. These changes threaten food security, safety, and health globally. By becoming aware of this connection, we can advocate for and support more sustainable farming practices that reduce our carbon footprint.

In striving to produce healthy #berries for consumers, preserve the soil, and sell a high-quality yield, growers face many challenges. Among them are increasing consumer demand for berries, high pesticide use, climate change, and different policies, that impact production in various countries.
#Trapview is helping berry growers monitor 𝑫𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒐𝒑𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒂 𝒔𝒖𝒛𝒖𝒌𝒊𝒊, also called the spotted wing drosophila or #SWD.
We started the monitoring season in #strawberries and will soon continue in #blueberries.
