😊'When you teach somebody how to read, they have that for a lifetime. It ripples through the community, one by one. '😊 📖This month, we're shining a spotlight on the critical importance of basic education and literacy for all. Education is the foundation for a brighter future, empowering individuals and transforming communities. ✏️ Rotary members make amazing things happen, like: 🌍Opening schools: In Afghanistan, Rotary members opened a girls’ school to break the cycle of poverty and social imbalance. 🌍Teaching adults to read: Rotary members in the United States partnered with ProLiteracy Detroit to recruit and train tutors after a study showed that more than half of the local adult population was functionally illiterate. 🌍New teaching methods: The SOUNS program in South Africa, Puerto Rico and the United States teaches educators how to improve literacy by teaching children to recognize letters by sounds instead of names. 🌍Making schools healthy: Rotarians are providing clean, fresh water to every public school in Lebanon so students can be healthier and get a better education. 🌍Enhancing educational systems: In Kenya, Rotary clubs are working with the Global Partnership for Education and local and national governments to advance life-long learning opportunities for poor and marginalized children. Let's work together to create a world where everyone has the chance to succeed through the gift of education! 🌟📖 #Rotary #EducationForAll #LiteracyMatters #SupportEducation

🌍 Celebrating UNICEF's Impact on Child Well-being Globally 🌍 As a global leader in child advocacy, UNICEF continues to make remarkable strides in improving the lives of children across the world. From ensuring access to education, healthcare, and protection, UNICEF's impact is undeniable. Here are just a few statistics to appreciate their work: UNICEF is present in 190 countries and territories, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive. In 2022, UNICEF helped provide 23.8 million children with formal or non-formal education, including early childhood education. The organization has contributed to vaccinating 45% of the world's children, helping prevent millions of deaths every year. UNICEF responded to 482 humanitarian crises globally in 2022, providing essential aid to children and families in need. Their commitment to the well-being of every child is truly inspiring. Let’s continue to support their mission to create a safer, healthier, and more educated world for children. #Chukwuebuka_Godspower_Eze #UNICEF #ChildWellbeing #GlobalImpact #Education #Healthcare #PublicHealth #ChildrenFirst #Advocacy #PublicHealth #BetterFuture.

Save the Children – #London – #UK Around the world, too many children start life at a disadvantage simply because of who they are and where they come from. Millions of children are dying from preventable causes, face poverty, violence, disease and hunger. They are caught up in war zones and disasters they did nothing to create. And they are denied an education and other basic rights owed to them. All children deserve better. We champion the rights and interests of children worldwide, putting the most vulnerable children first. With 25,000 dedicated staff across 118 countries, we respond to major emergencies, deliver innovative development programmes, and ensure children's voices are heard through our campaigning to build a better future for and with children. https://lnkd.in/eMeG2Vu8 #NGO #SAvetheChildren

"Dot-Voting" - One Way to Engage Children in #MEAL & #Research. Dot-Voting is a quick and simple method for engaging children and ensuring their voices are meaningfully heard. It is not just theory. Rather, this method is practised by Save the Children Pakistan in its programs. Do you implement programs involving children - directly or indirectly? Most likely your answer will be YES (Rather, do we even have programs which do not have an impact on children?). In such a case, let us quickly introduce you to something new for your consideration for your learning activities! Thank you Save the Children Pakistan. #Dot #Voting is a technique to encourge #children #participation during focus group discussions (#FGDs) and other #group #feedback sessions like #workshops. It will help you understand i) what needs to be done (identification and prioritisation), ii) the current state of things (baseline) and iii) how things have gone during implementation (evaluation). #Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan by land area and is also the least populated one. Save the Children Pakistan in #Balochistan with the support of Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) Germany (#GFFO) started a new initiative to improve the health and well-being of women, children and others. As part of this endeavour, GLOW Consultants (Private) Limited using Dot Voting amongst other methods helped to establish the baseline for this project by involving children from diverse communities - both girls and boys. This inclusive approach by Save the Children Pakistan will help it to incorporate children's voices in these activities. If you would like to know more about Dot Voting or have any other questions related to learning activities, write to us at: [email protected] and and don't forget to follow us at GLOW Consultants (Private) Limited UNICEF Pakistan UNICEF Save the Children International Save the Children UK UNESCO Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office USAID USAID Learning Lab ODI Muhammad Khuram Gondal Yozan Shahid (he/him) Irfan Butt Zaki Ullah Tariq Rahim Baig Muhammad Haroon Muhammad Ismail

Within this important project we address the difficult circumstances faced by Ukrainian large families following the onset of the full-scale war on February 24, 2022. A Family-Type Children’s Home is a distinct family unit formed by the commitment of a couple or an individual to care for a minimum of 5 orphaned children or children without parental care. Presently, there are approximately 1500 family-type children's homes in Ukraine, providing care for over 9500 children. ↘ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: We supply essential goods, household appliances, and furniture to enhance living conditions. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: We provide educational materials, school supplies, and cover expenses for extracurricular activities to support children's educational development. 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀: During crises, we respond to immediate needs by providing generators, charging stations, water purification systems, food, warm clothing, and medicines. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲: We facilitate access to healthcare by covering medical treatment expenses and supplying necessary medical kits. Family-Type Children’s Homes play a crucial role in fostering a balanced and secure environment for the development of children facing challenging life circumstances. Supporting these families represents an investment in the future of society, as it lays the groundwork for the healthy and joyful growth of the next generation. In 2024, our commitment to supporting Family-Type Children’s Homes remains unwavering. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who shares our dedication to creating a brighter future for children and who lends their support to the “Help for Family-Type Children’s Homes” program. Together, we are paving the way for a better tomorrow. #CenterSocial #CenterSocialOrg #HumanitarianAid #SocialImpact #FutureGenerations
