Meet Adonnia Francis, the lead math teacher at KIPP Pride High, and ALSO an alum of KIPP Pride High. Reflecting on her journey, she shares, 'My first year at KIPP in 9th grade was Mrs. Lofstedt's first year teaching. She was one of those teachers who I knew always had my back. She made me feel loved and recognized. She saw great potential in me...Now, as an educator working alongside her, she has done the same thing: Recognizes me for my hard work while still pushing me to be my best self and an even greater educator.' #TeacherAppreciation #KIPPPrideHigh #AlumniSuccess

Veteran teacher Shannon Feineis discusses in her Edutopia - George Lucas Educational Foundation article that the honest critiques from students' feedback helped her identify major areas of improvement in her teaching. Assistant Superintendent of Academics @ WNY Catholic Schools - Helping school leaders develop students to become the best version of themselves.
Just finished data meetings with WNY Catholic school leaders and now it's time to decide what's next. Educators often ask, "How can we differentiate instruction and manage classroom behavior?" One promising framework and strategy is Daily 5. It empowers students to take ownership of their learning and become more independent. So, how do we support students and educators in developing the skills and strategies needed to foster differentiation and student ownership? #differentiation #leadershipmatters #literacy #wnycatholicschools

TEACHER FEATURE! We are excited to introduce Mrs. Haylie Kretz to you! Fourth-grade math and science teacher at Alta Visa Elementary, Mrs. Kretz, has been teaching for seven years and has a life-long affinity for education (and math). She says that she has always known she would become a teacher. "Growing up, I always enjoyed helping my teachers with anything they needed- I used to LOVE grading papers for them! I don't think any one thing led me to be a teacher, just a passion for helping others. I cannot remember a time I didn't want to be a teacher." She continues the conversation, saying, "I also absolutely LOVE math. I always enjoyed learning it (though it wasn't always my best subject). I especially love teaching it! There are so many ways to open a student's eyes to information they think is too challenging. It is a really satisfying thing to take a child from thinking they hate math to it being their favorite subject!" #TeacherTuesdaySCS
