The stigma associated with Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) can discourage those affected from seeking help, and perpetuate a cycle of suffering. It's crucial to remember that SUDs are medical conditions, not moral failings. Compassion, understanding, and accessible treatment options are key. We need to build communities that support recovery, offer hope, and celebrate progress. It's time to change the conversation around SUDs. If you or someone you know is struggling with substance use disorders, we are here to help. Call our hotline at 973-754-6784 or email us at [email protected] #Evasvillage #Wherehopebegins #EndTheStigma #SupportRecovery #SUDAwareness#Nonprofit #support #community #charity #giveback #donate #philanthropy #Patersonnj #NJ

Hey, brainiacs! I'm taking part in the push up challenge for Mental Health. Here are some funny reasons why you should donate to this awesome cause: 1) Because life is hard and people need help to cope 2) Brains are squishy and mushy, but science shows you can reshape them no matter how old you get. 3) Working out keeps me sane, so I won't freak out at you 4) It's the biggest fundraising event for mental health in Australia 5) Stick one to the man and get some money back for doing good! The Push for Better Foundation is a legit charity in Australia and you can claim your donation on your taxes. (ABN 49645093349) 6) I also put my money where my mouth is, so you know it's good stuff.

Friends and Family: Imagine that you are an expecting parent doing what they often do: buying clothes that will be too quickly outgrown; stocking up on diapers; and making list of names. You go to what should be another routine check-up to see how you or your partner is progressing. Your doctor comes into the room with someone you have never met. You know instantly that something is different. Rather than hearing the repeated phrase that “everything is as expected” – something you silently took for granted until now – you are told that you your soon to be born has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome. You are disoriented. You do not know what to say or do. You can’t hear anything else that is being said. It is experiences like these that make Down Syndrome Center of Puget Sound (“DSC”) such a vital part of our community. DSC’s “First Call Program” provide immediate resources and mentoring for parents that are processing the unexpected. To continue providing critical services like these, the DSC needs your support. If you are able, please donate here: https://lnkd.in/gbPpwUzQ Also, please consider participating in the upcoming Buddy Walk on October 8, 2023, at Woodland Park Zoo to show your support for the DSC community: https://lnkd.in/geDbqhVF
