As part of #ArmedForcesWeek, we also marked #ReservesDay on 26 June to celebrate the incredible contributions of reservists within our organisation. Today, we share the inspiring story of Lance Corporal Izzy Adamson, a Combat Medical Technician, who recently returned from training the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF). At King's College Hospital, Izzy works as an Occupational Therapist in Critical Care. As an army reservist with the 335 Medical Evacuation Regiment, she spent three weeks in Uganda this January, helping train UPDF medical personnel. Izzy said: "At King's, we are proficient in serving a diverse patient population and collaborating with teams. My experience in Uganda further developed these skills, involving effective communication across language barriers and respectful observance of cultural traditions. "The individuals we trained encompassed a wide range of professions, including radiographers, nurses, dieticians, doctors, porters, pharmacists, and more. Our responsibility involved enhancing their skills and assisting in the transition of knowledge from their hospital context to frontline medical care." Izzy’s story showcases the unique skills and experiences reservists bring to our organisation. We are proud to support our reservists and honour their dedication and service. #TeamKings

The US Army is facing a challenge in maintaining information supremacy, according to a recent Inspector General's report. The report revealed that the Army is struggling to keep up with the increasing demand for Military Information Support Operations (MISO), also known as psychological operations or PSYOP. A major cause of the problem is the "divorce" between active and reserve PSYOP units. To compensate, the Army has been relying on reservists to fill the gaps, but this is not enough. The report found that the Army's four active and reserve PSYOP groups were operating at only 60% of their authorized strength in FY2023. https://lnkd.in/eFQy6YYf

An excellent training program designed to enhance the life-saving skills of combat medics and combat life-savers in combat situations. It is a tremendous honor to be able to facilitate these advanced training sessions for our #NATO partners. As number 1 service provider for soldiers in Europa we are proud to keep delivering these high quality trainings. Are you in need of any military training, and you are a NATO soldier? Please contact us. For our international public we translated the original post to English. Please read below. Medics from the different units of the 13 Light Brigade (Dutch Army) are being retrained in the field of first aid under tactical conditions this week. Various scenarios are simulated in which one or more casualties are present, priorities need to be established, and the enemy pressure is still present. No matter how careful or well-prepared you are, during exercises, missions, or significant conflicts, casualties can occur. Especially when facing an (almost) equal opponent, there is a risk of situations where you cannot call 112. If the specialized care someone needs is located further behind the front lines, the medic is the person who can save your life. Soldiers often have a primary task and a secondary task. For example, a corporal in the infantry who is trained as a secondary task to provide medical first aid. All military personnel receive basic first aid training (#ZHKH), but there are multiple personnel in each unit who receive further education. This advanced medical assistance meets the #NATO requirement for "enhanced first aid within 10 minutes." This approach bridges the gap between formal medical personnel (who are systematically about 15 minutes away) and colleagues (who are nearby). If #NATO calls upon our readiness, it is good to know that we (13 Lichte Brigade) can not only attack well and quickly and defend aggressively but also that your buddies around you can take care of you when necessary. #Medics13LightBrigade #ThisIsAlsoPartOfIt #WarfightingCapable #NATOShoulderToShoulder

https://lnkd.in/gWjbPVmP Excellent article. And demonstrating a core issue in Canada, namely the lack of realism of some citizens vis à vis what functions are necessary to grow and maintain democracies. Agile and modern armed forces, made up of committed and caring citizens, are critical to democracies.

Excellent question was posed and I wanted to share my response. What's the difference between what my team can offer, and that of a VSO? We assist Veterans by helping them to obtain an increase in their already s/c disabilities. We match you with a provider in your general area that our medical team supports, and afterwards we provide supporting documentation (DBQs) as evidence for increase. We also partner with a VA disability Atty -supported by our medical team. This allows us to help with Nexus letters-expert medical opinions. Additionally, we are working towards a process to support new claims, but however do not take the place of a VSO. Contact us today to see how we can help you navigate the process.
