NextGenTV’s splash at CES was more of a ripple. 📺 Despite backing from brands like TCL, the upgrade known as ATSC 3.0 is being sidelined in favor of streaming and enviable tech like transparent displays. 🖥️ While the buzz dwindles, makers face challenges from expensive sets to delayed component shipping. But don't count out NextGen just yet – local stations are picking up the slack, with 75% of US households soon to get upgraded broadcasts, including HDR and Dolby Atmos. Plus, innovative services like Roxi are leveraging NextGen's tech for interactive enjoyment. 🎵 In the TV world, it's not over 'til the last channel changes! Utilized Xilinx FPGAs and SMPTE 2110 compliant IP cores to meet the low latency requirements of the multi-camera system.
Commissioned by a European streaming operator, we created high-speed #Opengear cards for a multi-camera system broadcasting live video from various events such as sports, music and media spectacles. https://lnkd.in/d4AVf4wz Our client needed to capture instant details of events on video, which required high-speed capabilities for both broadcast and storage. To meet these requirements, we developed openGear.tv cards that utilise Xilinx FPGAs and IP cores that are SMPTE 2110 compliant for low latency multiple signal transmission. Are you interested in exploring how our solutions can enhance the efficiency of your projects? Feel free to drop a comment or reach out to us directly. #hardwaredesign #broadcasting #FPGA

The resolution of 3840 × 2160 is the dominant 4K resolution in the consumer media and display industries. This is the resolution of the UHDTV1 format defined in SMPTE ST 2036–1, as well as the 4K UHDTV format defined by ITU-R in Rec. 2020, and is also the minimum resolution for CEA's definition of Ultra HD displays and projectors. The resolution of 3840 × 2160 was also chosen by the DVB project for their 4K broadcasting standard, UHD-1. This resolution has an aspect ratio of 16∶9, with 8,294,400 total pixels. It is exactly double the horizontal and vertical resolution of 1080p (1920 × 1080) for a total of 4 times as many pixels, and triple the horizontal and vertical resolution of 720p (1280 × 720) for a total of 9 times as many pixels. It is sometimes referred to as "2160p", based on the naming patterns established by the previous 720p and 1080p HDTV standards. At TEVIOS, yellow has become our favorite color thanks to the yellobrik range from LYNXTechnik AG! 🤩 🐥 🍋 ☀ For instance, this HDMI to SDI converter is a true chameleon of the audiovisual world: 🔌 Supporting 12G / 6G / 3G / 1.5G / SD-SDI signals and providing support for both 3G-SDI Level A and Level B, it comes equipped with an integrated frame synchronizer for superior quality. 🤷♂️ Still not convinced? Yet it ticks many boxes with its multi-format sync reference input compatible with Cross Lock, two SDI outputs (with optional fiber optic output), and transparent transmission of PCM and AC3 audio via HDMI. You can also choose between balanced analog audio inputs, unbalanced line level inputs, or AES inputs. Any questions?
