Biggest takeaway from the AASHTO Safety Summit: A century ago vehicle speed was the most important factor in pedestrian safety. Slower drivers tend to yield to pedestrians and remain more aware of the periphery; meaning faster stops and fewer serious crashes. Now we stand on the precipice of a golden age in transportation technology; AI, self-driving, big data. We’ve piled state of the art engineering, innovation, and high tech solutions into the most advanced vehicles, signals, and roadways in the history of the planet. And it turns out: Vehicle speed is… still the most important factor for pedestrian safety.

🚛 Active Lane Change Assist for commercial vehicles can make a significant contribution to highway safety. ZF led the pioneering research project Highways Assist with Lane Change (HALC), which has been researching and developing the technology for the past three years. 🔍 Let's take a closer look at how this system works: • Lane Keeping Assist works when driving in the same lane. The distance with the vehicle in front is continuously monitored. If the vehicle in front slows down, the system automatically reduces speed. • Lane Change Assist works when attempting to change lanes. The system monitors the driver's head movements, ensuring awareness during the lane change manoeuvre. Radars on both sides of the truck check that the target lane is not blocked. 🛣️ Only when these conditions are met and the turn signal is activated will the system initiate an automatic lane-change manoeuvre. However, the driver can take control at any time if necessary. 🌐 The project takes the research on highway safety technology to a new level. We expect that new series products can be developed based on the research results. #HighwaySafety #LaneChangeAssist #RoadSafety #SafetyFirst #Safety #Trucks #Innovation #ZF #CommercialVehicles #Technology 🚚✨

TRANSFORMING HIGHWAYS INTO HIGH DEFINITION: THE EVOLVING NARRATIVE OF TRUCKING IN VIDEO In the past, trucking narratives were simple; a lone driver with an 18-wheeler, battling the elements, time constraints, and solitude. Now, the story has shifted dramatically: * Modern technology has brought a whole new angle. Trucks are no longer just vehicles; they're mobile data centers. * Cameras narrate compelling stories, from the driver's personal journey to the crucial logistics behind each delivery. * Even the less glamorous aspects, like monitoring safe driving practices, become part of a captivating video narrative. People connect with stories, and video brings trucking journeys to life like never before. The talk is no longer just about payloads and mileage; it's about the human element, the spirit behind each ignition. To experience this shift firsthand, visit www.tvsdigital.com. The road is waiting. #truckingstorytelling #videonarratives #technologyshift
