My Head of Marketing is away in the US for Thanksgiving and so whilst the cat is away, my little mouse is at play. It has dawned on me recently that I am a better with clients than I am with titles, so I have taken a little (and mainly optical) step away from wearing the CEO badge, not least because no-one listens to me, but also because I just prefer talking to clients and solving problems. Coupled with this timing, I have now completed my Christmas decorations at home (actually, I completed it on the 01st November) and I think it is time for me to spread some Christmas gifts.... so an open invitation to current, past and maybe future clients in HR positions to book a call with me to chat through the year; the learnings; my thoughts on 2024 talent challenges; to ask a question and get an honest answer; or to just reminisce about the good old days when recruitment really was.... 'soooooo difficult'. Honestly, it really wasn't, it is just the facade that the industry likes to hide behind. What is difficult is navigating the chop that is being patient and planning for success when it comes to talent acquisition..... and I know a little bit about that. If you would like a candid, no strings attached talent conversation, my door is open so please book yourself in. https://lnkd.in/ejshsFgH #talentacquisition #hrdirector #scaleups

Did You Know ⁉️ 85% of employees leave because they don’t feel appreciated.🚨 Here are a few easy ways to appreciate your team: ✅ Show Empathy: They aren’t robots. They have feelings. Send a get-well or sympathy gift to show you care during the tough times. ✅ Recognize Success: Some employees only hear when things are wrong, not right. Show your appreciation for making YOU look good. ✅ Do The Unexpected: People LOVE unexpected surprises. Boost team morale by providing a personalized gift that’s more than just a pizza party. Some companies need a reality check. A little PSA: If you're not recognizing and appreciating your top performers who consistently go above and beyond for your company, you're playing an extremely dangerous game. When your top employees feel undervalued and unappreciated, they're not going to continue sticking around. And who can blame them?! If their hard work and dedication go unnoticed and unacknowledged, why should they continue to give their all? Here's another PSA: When you punish your entire team for lack of productivity, even when you have employees who are actually doing their job, you're essentially saying that their efforts are worthless because they go unnoticed anyway. Here is a tip: If you want to keep your top talent and keep your company growing, please step up and recognize those who are actually making a difference. Because trust me, if you don't start appreciating your top performers, they won't hesitate to find a company that will. I'll step off of my soapbox now. 💁♀️
