Why are there always more hot dogs than buns? And what is the must-have condiment where you live? At Aumni, we’re obsessed with data. Here are a few Memorial Day data points that caught our attention. -First and foremost, around 656k members of the US military services have lost their lives in conflict since the first World War. We remember and honor our fallen service members on Memorial Day. -Around 260k graves at Arlington National Cemetery are adorned with flags each Memorial Day. -52% of Americans plan to have or attend a barbecue on Memorial Day. -818 hot dogs are expected to be consumed every second between Memorial Day to Labor Day. -As for the eternally frustrating situation of having to buy ten hot dogs at a time but getting only 8 buns per pack, the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council says it's to do with logistics: Buns are baked in clusters of four in pans designed to hold eight rolls. As for the hot dogs, they are distributed on a per pound basis. One hot dog usually weighs around 1.6 ounces so 10 gets us to a pound. -Each region of the US has its own favorite condiment. Aumni was founded in Salt Lake City, and in Utah, many will be enjoying “Fry Sauce” - a mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise. See what your local favorite is in the chart below, from Zippia. No matter how you dress up your Memorial Day plate, Aumni wishes you and your loved ones a meaningful day as we take time out to honor our fallen service members. It’s JULY already!! That means fireworks, flags and fake meat fights! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 🌭🌭🌭 Hot Dogs are an American staple and Nathan's Famous, Inc. capitalizes on that association with their annual hot dog eating contest which has gone on for the last 50 years. 🌽🌽🌽 But 16-time Nathan’s hot dog eating champ Joey Chestnut went rogue with an Impossible Foods sponsorship to promote their plant based hot dog and Nathan's banned him from the contest in a few days, generating tons of earned media. Impossible Foods is cashing in on the controversy and successfully used an ambush marketing tactic to position themselves as an underdog (pun!) disrupting the hot dog scene. Joey is now joining a different hot dog eating contest to compete against soldiers on the 4th and Impossible will support the event. I doubt this war will convert waves of meat eaters but it is a great play for Impossible foods to get on meat eaters radar, creating awareness of alt dog options. #brandmarketing #marketingstrategy #ambushmarketing #plantbased #foodmarketing #disruption

Founder and Executive Director at Animal Welfare Observatory ✔️ Working on large-scale animal suffering 💡 Effective animal advocacy 📈 Transformational leadership 🐥 Animal welfare
Here is an overview of what has been achieved with the top-10 retailers in #spain on farmed animals campaigns: - Cage-free commitments: 6/10 covering shell eggs, egg ingredient and ban on combi systems with a 2025 deadline. - Broilers ECC: 6/10 signed up to the ECC with a 2026 deadline. - Fish: 😅 Note 1: orange refers to retailers that have not yet committed to cage-free egg ingredient. Note 2: It seems that commitments on fish (pre-slaughter stunning) are going to proceed faster among producers compared to supermarkets.
