I was chatting with a CCO when he said, "The companies that meddle along with hiring / job offers are ultimately hurting their reputation long-term.... Medical sales people talk." It was a refreshing thing to hear from someone on the inside of a company. Unfortunately, some company's hiring processes (or people) do not take this into account and end up stringing candidates along. Shortening timelines and being transparent around hiring/offer deadlines will help fix this issue. #hiring #medicalsales #recruiting

Thinking about news headlines during 2023: - Layoffs - Downsizing - Economic uncertainty - Cost cutting measures ⬇️ What are your thoughts of the statement below? ⬇️ ”When one door closes, another door opens” True or False⁉️ The MBA answer, “it depends.” “I guess something will come along eventually.” How long is that? 📌 I’ve learned, “the door doesn’t open itself.” Especially in Medical Sales. What happens when you know what door you want to open, but have NO IDEA how to open the door… That was me 20 years ago while working in #telecom. The business was UP and DOWN. ❌ Constant concerns of Cutbacks or Reduction in workforce. As a former #RegionalSalesManger, who transitioned to a #MedicalSalesRecruiter, I know what #Leaders are looking for in their next hire. You must take #initiative if you want to get into this space. ☝ Having the ability to initiate things independent of someone telling you what to do, is a critical skill set managers are looking for when hiring. ✌ As a sales rep, you will work on your own 90% of the time so if you need someone to tell you what to do then medical sales might not be the best fit. 🖖 There will be circumstances that you will have to take charge and resolve difficult situations. This is especially true in medical sales. 🖐 Guess what ... this is a skill set that can be developed. If you take the initiative and put in the work to get into this space, you will never look back. ❤️ If I hadn't taken the initiative to reach out to those 50 external recruiters that Paul Pappas sent to me all those years ago, who knows where I would be today!
